The One I Cannot Kill
|
The One I Cannot Kill is a balanced three-player setup that attempts to play out like a normal Mafia game, despite the very small number of players.
Setup
- 1 × Mafia Semi-Priest
- 2 × Vanilla Townie
Mechanics
- The game only lasts a single day; town win if Mafia is eliminated (or modkilled), Mafia wins otherwise.
- The Semi-Priest cannot hammer a randomly chosen townie. Attempting to do so automatically causes them to lose. (This restriction is on hammers only; non-hammer votes are fine, as are hammers on the other townie.)

Notes
This setup can be seen as an adjustment of SS3; both setups are a 2:1 ELo except that a particular "scum hammers town" combination is a town win rather than a scum win. The difference is that in SS3, it's a townie who know about the "impossible combination", simplifying the game to a simple 1v1; whereas in The One I Cannot Kill, it's a scum player who knows about the combination. This causes optimal scum strategy to be different from optimal town strategy, and creates associative tells in addition to regular scumtells, giving both sides more opportunity to work towards their win condition.
