Player on MafiaScum as of 12 March 2004. Brought here by Orbiting, who helps with some of my game setups/flavor. I'm also often willing to review most setups, as I moderate more than I play these days. I also recently became the List Moderator for The Road to Rome, where newbie Games are played.
Best known for overly long explanations and analyses, which may or may not be accurate, but are usually precise. Also a big fan/supporter of this wiki, which led to me being granted the custom title "WiKid".
Current
- Replaced into Newbie Game #1391 on Day 3; currently on Day 4.
- Dewey Decimal, a Mini Theme, currently on Day 2.
Finished/Dead
- ^ Newbie Game #25; Mafia, lynched Day 2 (with the help of his partner). Scum won on Day 3.
- ^ 'The Hobbit', a Theme Game; Troll Mafia (no night talk, restricted kill ability), killed Night 2 by an opposing Mafia Faction. Game ended eventually in a Town win, but the structure of the game was deemed broken by most players.
- ^ Newbie Game #68; Citizen, survived to Endgame. Town won when both Mafia got caught in a double-bind claim.
- ^ 'Guitarists' Mini Game; Mafia, survived until the end. Scum won on Day 3 when the counter-claimed cop got lynched.
- ^ GreyLabyrinth's 'Greek' Mini Game, Mafia, lynched Day 3, Town won on Day 5; having a mod-confirmed Cop really helped them, but they won fair and square.
- ^ Newbie Game #73; Mafia, lynched Day 2 in a false counterclaim attempt. Town won on Day 3.
- Participated in playtesting mathcam's version of Time Travel Mafia (done).
- ^ Newbie Game #87; Mafia, lynched Day 2 on a cop's investigation. Town won on Day 3.
- 'Rock Paper Scissors' Mini Theme/Experimental Game (everyone belonged to one of three Mafia Factions, no ProTown roles); European representative of the Rock Mafia. Endgame on Day 6 ended with a Paper win (would have been a Draw except for a Game Mechanic that Paper beats Rock, like in the regular RPS game).
- 'Checkmate', Normal Game with Black and White Factions, and Mafia on both; Black King (Cop/Doctor), killed Night 1. White Town won their way out of a Prisoner's Gambit when the last remaining Mafia and Serial Killer killed each other Night 7.
- Replacement on Day 4 for 'Mafia' Mafia, a NormalGame except that the Mafia is trying to eliminate ProTown infiltrators. Lynched Day 4 on the suspicions/lies of my predecessor, who was also a Townie (err, Scum, in this game); false role-claim got me nowhere. Game won Night 4 by the ProTown Authorities (rival Scum Faction) when they killed off our last member and arrested the remaining Mafia.
- Newbie Game #102; Citizen, killed Night 1. Town won on Day 3.
- Newbie Game #108; Citizen, killed Night 1. Scum won on Day 2 with excellent play.
- Newbie Game #113; Cop, killed Night 2 after outing myself. Scum won on Day 3 with a daring gambit in the previous day's lynch.
- Newbie Game #119; Citizen, killed Night 1 after replacing into the game at the beginning. Scum won on Day 2.
- 'Fight Club', a Mini Theme game; I was the Penguin (death-delayer), but the game was abandoned Night 2 when warpdragon's computer died with all information on it.
- Newbie Game #134; Townie, died in endgame when Scum won Day 3 on a bad lynch by the Town.
- Newbie Game #156; Scum who was fingered by the Cop but managed to win Day 2 by out-talking him.
- 'Civilization', a Theme Game based on the computer game; Vandal horde (Scum), lynched on Day 2, game was finally won by the town Day 9.
- Replacement on Day 2 into 'Good Omens', a Theme Game based on the book; Delivery Man (Townie), died Night 10 as the Hell mafia won in the endgame.
- Newbie Game #165, Marbles theme; Mafia, won on Day 3 by outtalking the remaining townies after a miscounted lynch of my partner Day 2.
- Newbie Game #172, 'Wintry Special'; Scum won on Day 2 by lynching me.
- Replacement on Day 3 into 'Unknown Role' Mini Theme/Experimental Game; game abandoned on Day 9. I was some sort of vote-investigator..?
- Newbie Game #225; Mafia. Town won on Day Two by lynching me quickly after my partner and I played horribly.
- 'Wheel of Time' Theme Game; Mesaana (Scum), died N2 to Padan Fain. Game was eventually won by the Cult.
- 'Clue' Mini Theme game; Miss Scarlet (Cop/one-shot Vigilante). Town won on Day 5 through some luck, some skill, and a lot of posting.
- Newbie Game #240; Townie, lynched Day 1 (for the first time, ever!). Town won Day 3 anyway with a good Cop and Doc combination.
- 'Himalayan Mafia', Normal Game in the Roleless Mafia style; Mafia, lynched Day 6. Mafia won Day 9 when the Lees (LoudmouthLee/MrBuddyLee) talked their way right down to a 3-man finish, and won it for us. Well done!
- Newbie Game #246, C9 setup; Cop, lost Day 2 when I lynched the remaining Townie. Terrible play all around, very slow game, but what I did was just awful... sorry Masterchief!
- Replaced in temporarily for HackerHuck in 'Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Scum' Mafia, Theme Game based on the Tom Stoppard play; Vigilante (The Player). Town won Day 3, although we took it down to the wire.
- Replaced into No Pressure Mafia, a lurker's paradise Theme Game, on Day 2. Mafia won on Day 3 (I was one of them) after a night filled with unlucky vigilante actions.
- Newbie Game #296, Droids-themed C9 game. Mafia, lynched Day 2 so that town won.
- Newbie Game #317, C9 game. I replaced Twito as Mafia on Day 2 and won in endgame. Twito's request to be replaced and apparent absence during Night Choices really messed with the town's head, which is another example of why replacements are unfair in my view (even when it benefits me).
- Replaced into Diablo Mafia, a mini theme game, on Day 1; Eldritch the Rectifier (Townie), killed Night 2; Prime Evil-aligned "Town" won Day 5.
- Mafia vs. Wolves Redux, Phoebus' Theme Game follow-up to Mafia vs. Wolves; role was "Gardener" (Goon). Game eventually ended in a Town win; our side did not do well, even though I fear the town was overpowered.
- Newbie Game #333, C9 game, Mafia won on Day 4, but there was some good play in this one.
- Replaced into Newbie Game #345 on Day 2, Mafia won later that same day despite some really excellent play by OnFire. Tough game, good read.
- Newbie Game #349, Welsh-flavored C9 game; I was a Cop, killed Night 1, even after I helped lynch the doc. Town won on Day 3, despite losing both power roles in the first two kills.
- Newbie Game 436, run by Kerplunk; Mafia, lynched Day 2. Luckily my partner was able to argue his way to Mafia win on Day 3, partially helped by my self-hammer.
- Received a (surprise!) role on Day 2 of Battle Mage's Mystery Mafia; I was a Jester, but was nightkilled on Night 3. The game has apparently been won by the Evil Mafia on Day 8, but there's an "alternate ending" pending?!?
- Newbie Game 465. town won it eventually, but unfortunately I had to ask for replacement Day 1 due to scheduling overload.
- Mr Stoofer's experimental Methodical Mafia; I was the Serial Killer, and was lynched on Day 3. Town won on Day 4; interesting idea, but I'm not sure how viable it is. In any case, being the SK is hard!
- Replaced into Paranoia Mafia, a Mini Theme game based on the RPG, on Daycycle 3; lynched as a Naive Cop on Daycycle 5. Mafia finally won on Nightcycle 5. This was a very tough game to figure out and play, as befits the theme, but I found it ultimately unsatisfying.
- Mutually Assured Destruction 2, a Mini Theme based on the original, also modded by Yosarian2. I was a U.N. Inspection Team (Cop) but was inexplicably nuked Day 1 by Albert B. Rampage, another pro-town player. New World Order Mafia won on Day 4.
- Replaced into NabakovNabakov's Mini Normal 'Underground Mafia' on Day 1; lynched as a Townie on Day 3. Town won on Day 5 following a failed gambit by scum to claim Cop. Beautiful flavor text in this game...
- Replaced into PookyTheMagicalBear's Nightless Mini Theme 'Masons & Mafia' on Day 3 - Town won in a knuckle-biter ending that literally came down to who could get to the thread first. Despite being a Mason in this game, I contributed virtually nothing to the win, being distracted by the scummy-looking Mastermind of Sin and the weird mechanic that could get Masons daykilled at any moment if they were outed.
- Replaced into petroleumjelly's Newbie Game #446 on Day 2 as a Mafia Goon; Mafia won on Day 3 by lynching a lurker/semi-absent player; this was officially the Longest. Newbie game. Evar, at more than six months...!
- Got lynched Day One (for the second time ever) in the List Mod Invitational. I was just a Townie, but really wasn't up to the usual standards of my game. Mafia won in the end.
- Mafia 81: Swift Speed Werewolves II, breakneck pace in this game! Wolves (Town) won on Day Five; I was one of the Werewolves, a.k.a. Townies.
- Minvitational 9, 12 players who joined the site between March 2002 and March 2004. I'm the baby of this group, and
likely to get my ass kickedgot my ass kicked and lynched Day Two as a Vanilla Townie! Game was eventually won by Town anyway. - Replaced into Flameaxe's Newbie Game #617 during an extremely long Day One. Mafia won on Day Three by getting Brandi lynched (with my help). Not my finest hour, but she was really scummy...
- Got a surprise role on Day Six in Battle Mage's Mystery Mafia 2, a.k.a "The Game That Never Ends". I was killed as a Vanilla Townie on Night Six after we successfully lynched scum, so my time in this extremely confusing game was mercifully brief. Town won on Day Nine.
- Replaced into zu_Faul's Newbie Game #671 as a Townie on Day Two, and was nightkilled Night Three. Scum won on Day Four; the remaining scum survived almost the entire game without a partner, so well done there.
- Wheel of Time, a Large Theme being run by Kinetic; I was a Forsaken (Scum) who was lynched on Day Three. My faction won on Day Eight anyway, in a bizarre turn of events. Not really satisfied with the way this game went down, it was, if anything, TOO complex.
- Newbie Game #775; Townie, killed in the endgame as Scum won on Day 3. Hard game with a lot of replacements and lurking.
- Geezer Mafia, Townie, night-killed N4. Town won on Day Five.
- Replaced into Newbie 980 on Day One; I was lynched as a Mafia Roleblocker on Day Two after the Cop spotted me. My scumbuddy won it for us in the end, however!
- Convict's Revenge, a Large Theme with a sci-fi theme and lots of killing roles. I was a modified Doctor, but got shot Day One along with a ton of other people. Convict (SK) won on Day Five. Apparently I was killed by Town??
- Newbie Game #1045; replaced out when it became apparent I wouldn't have time to play properly. Game was won by Scum after my replacement played a better, if still-lurky, game.
- NY #140, Vigilante in my first Large Normal ever; Mafia won on Day Seven after I voted wrong in LyLo and had my Vigilante-kill roleblocked. Way too much claiming by Town in this game, but the last surviving Mafiate played a very solid game, and I absolutely voted against the other remaining Town rather than Lurconis. Also, going 1-for-4 in my Vig shots doesn't help...
- Mini #1456, Mafia Goon in a Mini Normal. This game was in a weird place because I knew that Mafia Framer had just been disallowed by the Normal Review Group, but it was grandfathered into this game. Spent much of my time buddying up to the paranoid Rainbowdash, and it paid off. Best part though was that my own paranoia about the setup led me to avoid quickhammering in LyLo, and somebody else did it for me!
- Newbie Game #1382, Vanilla Townie. Town won in the end (on Day 5) after a rocky start, largely due to some amazing Doc work by Kattaze. Two saves took us from LyLo to MyLo to "oh THAT must be the scum". Boom boom, last two lynches were golden.
Fun facts
- Out of my first 7 games^, I was Pro-Town in 1 of them. The chances of that are something like 0.05%... (I am not counting the playtest of Time Travel Mafia or the all-Mafia RPS game)
- It took until my 27th game for me to be Lynched Day One.
- By my count, I've lynched correctly (Scum not on my team) 38 out of the 110 times I had the chance to do so, or 34.55%. This doesn't count being in the sole scum Faction (unless I got lynched), or being SK, or when everyone is Mafia, or other strange circumstances. It does include being Cop, and two successful Vigilante kills.
Current
- next up will be At The Mountains Of Ebony and Ivory, a Mini Theme testing out the Ebony+Ivory mechanic. Pre-ins:
- RedCoyote
- Glork
- slowly working on the design for Realistic Mafia with a crack team of nutjobs. Pre-ins exist:
- Majiffy
- Jake from State Farm
Finished
- 'Dodecamafia', a Mini Normal game w/ 'gamer' flavor text. Town won on Day 4 with two survivors.

- Newbie Game #198, C9 setup; Town won on Day 3, in just two posts, with a successful investigation.

- Newbie Game #222, C9 setup; Scum won on Day 2 following a disastrous Townie meltdown (and over a hundred posts!) the first Day.
- Newbie Game #223, C9 setup with Dylan Thomas flavor; Scum won on Day 3.
- Newbie Game #228, C9 setup with Doctor Doom flavor; Scum won on Day 3 even after losing one person Day 1. Excellent play by viper0933.
- Newbie Game #242, C9 setup with Eddie Izzard flavor; Scum won Night 2 by getting the Cop lynched and then NightKilling the Doc.
- Newbie Game #243, C9 setup with Rock-n-Roll flavor; Scum won on Day 2.
- Newbie Game #248, C9 setup with Sheep & Wolves flavor; Town won on Day 3, after a lot of replacements (4 of the original 7).
- Newbie Game #255, C9 setup with lovers' quarrel flavor; Town ground to a win on Day 3 finally, after crashes and replacements and inactivity and I don't know what else...
- Bastard Mod Mafia, a Theme Game with intentional and extreme Bastard Modding (took over for my co-moderator VisMaior. Mafia won on Day 7 or so, after creating much havoc and confusion. Game Balance was probably a little off on this one..

- Newbie Game #321, C9 setup; Mafia won on Day 3.
- Newbie Game #325, C9 setup; Town won on Day 2 without any power roles!
- Newbie Game #328, C9 setup; Mafia won on Day 3 with really excellent play by Sudo_Nym.
- Newbie Game #358, C9 setup; Mafia won on Day 2.
- Newbie Game #364, C9 setup; Town won on Day 3.
- Newbie Game #365, C9 setup; Mafia won on Day 2, way too fast (only five pages).
- 'Suspicion in Sicily', a Large Normal; the Serial Killer won on Day 6 in a down-to-the-wire showdown with the Godfather and two Townies killed the night before. Good game overall, but the Town did not do well.
- Newbie Game #381, C9 setup; Town won on Day 2.
- Newbie Game #382, C9 setup; Mafia won on Day 3.
- Newbie Game #386, C9 setup (reboot of Newbie 377); Scum won on Day 2.
- Finished up Nanook's Newbie Game #387, which resulted in a Town loss in the three-person endgame.
- Newbie Game #406, C9 setup; Town won on Day 2 in one of the faster, cleaner games I've seen.
- Took over NanookTheWolf's Newbie Game #408; Town won on Day 2, even after losing both the Cop and the Doctor - much of this was due to both Mafia being replaced and being unable to take advantage of a lynch-or-lose situation.
- Newbie Game #415, C9 setup with an emphasis on participation (that didn't really work); Mafia won on Day 2 following a disastrous gambit by Adel, the Doc.
- Finished up Nanook's Newbie Game #417, which ended in a Mafia win on Day 2.
- Finished up Nanook's Newbie Game #418, which ended with a Mafia win on Day 2.

- Watched over Newbie Game #560 for stark when he had computer problems; Mafia won on Day 3.
- 'The Lost Boys' Mafia, a Theme Game based on the film; the vampires won on Night 7. This game was long, slow, and confusing for players; however it was an experiment in Cult-only balance, and led to some interesting post-game discussion on balance.
- Took over Newbie Game #572 for Max; Town won when the last Mafia Goon lynched herself Day 3.
- Took over Newbie Game #524 for Iammars; Town won on Day 4.
- Newbie Game #576; Mafia won on Day 3. This game suffered from a LOT of replacements (6?) over the course of its existence.
- War in Heaven, a Nightless Mini Theme with a Hurt/Heal mechanic that the Fallen Angels Scum used to good advantage, pulling out a win in ten 'days'.
- Newbie Game #579; Town won on Day Five; hard-fought and well-played on both sides.
- Took over Primate's Newbie Game #589 (after Guardian took it over first, then went V/LA); Mafia won on Day 3... I think they were just glad it was finally over. Replacementfest.

- Newbie Game #706; Town won on Day Three, largely by lurker-hunting and excellent play by the Cop.
- Newbie Game #713; Mafia won on Day Five after a successful No Kill and Doctor claim.
- Newbie Game #729; Mafia won on Day Three.
- Battle for Heaven, a Marathon Day version of the Angel Nightless setup run in War in Heaven. This game did NOT go well because I understimated the pace/complexity of keeping up with these mechanics in a speed game... ostensibly the Fallen Angels won, but it was marred by numerous God/Mod Errors.
- Newbie Game #721; Mafia won on Day Three.
- Took over Natirasha's Newbie Game #724; Mafia won on Day Three.
- War in Heaven II; won by the Fallen Angels (Scum) faster than I would have believed possible. This game shattered expectations and records, but Town still lost, and badly. :/
- Newbie Game #752; Mafia won on Day Three.
- Newbie Game #784; Town won on Day Four, after the final scum bollixed her fakeclaim and then had to be replaced by Vel-Rahn Koon, who gave it a solid effort in a losing cause.
- Newbie Game #916; Mafia won on Day Three.
- Newbie Game #986, Town won on Day Three.
- Co-mod of the Scummies Invitational, Mafia got destroyed by Day Three.
- Backup Mod for /in-vitational 11, Mafia won on Day Six.
- Succession Mafia, a Large Theme game with two Cults, was won by one of the Sons and his Goons. Not entirely satisfying, but might give it another try with some tweaks.
- Newbie Game #1025, Mafia won on Day Four.
- Wait Your Turn, Tex!, an Open Setup Mini Theme game that tries to unbreak Texas Justice was won by Town on Day Two. Not broken (yet), but VERY swingy.
- Newbie Game #1058, won by scum on Day Three after some disjointed and disappointing Town play.
- Succession Mafia II, a Large Theme game with two Cults, was won by one of the Sons and his Goons on Night Six. Better balanced, but I've lost my taste for cult games, finally. They're demoralizing for Town, and almost impossible to make less swingy.
- War in Heaven III, another Large Theme game in the series, was destroyed by the Great Rollback.
- War is Hell, the fourth/fifth Angel Nightless game, wherein the Infiltrating Angels (Scum ) defeated the Demons/Fallen. Better play, but this format is becoming slightly problematic in its current form. May or may not revisit it for another game.
- Newbie Game #1479, won by the Mafia on Day Three.
Upcoming games
- 'Giant*Lizard*Con' Mafia; "convention" flavor for a Theme Game (co-mod: Orbiting); this one's on the shelf for now, since -O- quit playing.
- 'Gormenghast', a Mini Theme based on the BBC miniseries of the Mervyn Peake novels, is back in the bin after stalling at 6/12 players. Maybe I'll try it in the Theme Park someday...
- Probably there will be another Large Theme Angel Nightless game to replace the destroyed WiH3, but not anytime real soon. :(
Glimmers-in-my-eye ideas
- 'Anagram' Mafia, a game in which all players' roles are based on anagrams of the words mafiascum.net.
- 'The X-Files'; gave this to another player once upon a time, have to figure out what happened with the idea. Not sure if I want to play or moderate...
- 'Hottie' Mafia, really a joke idea but maybe something will come of it, someday. It sure sparked more interest than most of my real ideas!
- Many Worlds Mafia, based on John Barnes' ideas in Finity.
- Megadeth Mafia
- (Son of) Dune Mafia
Failed ideas
- 'The Usual Suspects': Theme Game; not enough pro-town roles available in my estimation. Could possibly function as a game in which the gangsters are the uninformed majority, but Succession seems like more fun for that motif.
- 'Cruise From Hell' Mafia: Theme Game with split motives/roles and some strange Game Mechanics; never did get the balance details worked out to my satisfaction without turning it into a board game.
