Newbie 1201 (modded by Amrun; lost in 2012 Crash)
- I was a goon. This game was very fun for me because I took a large role in getting the most dangerous players to our survival lynched. BBmolla was probably the player I wanted dead the most, as I tried to kill him Night 1 (he was protected by the jailkeeper). Somehow I was able to convince people to lynch him, after a long quotewall battle that lasted for weeks throughout Day 2. Slandaar was the IC in this game, and was pretty useless. My scum buddy was Jackal711, and soon after MisterTea claimed jailkeeper on Day 2, he claimed cop without being provoked. This was after lurking for all of Day 1, and preceding his borderline-lurking for most of Day 2, and all of Day 3. Overall my scumbuddy's play was pretty bad, and very risky. I literally had to physically restrain myself from pointing out all his scum slips and scummy behavior in general. I would not consider him in the least responsible for the win we would have had, and everyone involved considers him directly responsible for the distasteful end of the game. Going back a bit before I skip to the end though: We mislynched well on the first day, Lupo was extremely easy to paint as scummy, and if I was a townie I would probably have lynched him anyway. No discouragement is intended here, but I am sure he will learn and become much better. As in my previous game, I decided to white-knight someone (Kassadin) very heavily. He was considered scummy by almost everyone in the game after his quick-hammer of Lupo on Day 1, and I was singlehandedly responsible for him not being lynched early on in Day 2. In hindsight, I wonder why I even bothered. I could very easily have just let him be lynched, and cruised on into Day 3 with three townies dead and a 2-4 MYLO situation. I suppose the reason I took the white-knight course of action instead of just helping town follow BBmolla (town) off a cliff and lynch Kassadin, was because I wanted to see if I *could* get BBmolla lynched. I knew when he flipped town I would look bad, so I did my best to set things up to look like I was a tunneling townie who was blind to almost everyone else. And then, after the longest and hardest quotewall battle I think I'll ever want to have, I was given the biggest gift I think I have ever gotten as scum: Kassadin quick-hammered yet again, and left with a parting comment of something like "GG I'm dead" or something that made him look terribly scummy. He was basically a guaranteed lynch on Day 3, and even I had an awesome reason to switch my read from white-knighting to lynching him. I killed the jailkeeper on Night 2, and we went into Day 3 MYLO. As my scum buddy had claimed cop, we were all waiting on his results for Day 3, so we could find scum and lynch them. He came back into the thread and said "Alright guys I'm here. I'm going V/LA for 2-3 days" or something similar. We asked him for his cop result, and he came back to say something to the effect of "Hold your horses, I'll tell you when I get back". Everyone was pretty mad, but we decided to wait for him to get back. When his announced V/LA was over, I made a comment asking him for his result, and stating the date. This is when things went sideways. He came back, but instead of claiming an innocent on somebody other than Kassadin (which was literally all he had to do to ensure us a guaranteed win), he decided to get angry at me for needling him for his cop result. He then claimed scum and outed yours truly as his scumbuddy. People were sorta stunned at this, and just looked around at each other and shrugged. When the mod finally logged on and saw, she declared the game "compromised" and unfinishable. Jackal711 was banned from newbie games for a while. Still not sure why he did it. It made me kind of angry, but I knew getting mad wouldn't really accomplish anything, so I tried being gracious and accepting an asterisk instead of a win or loss. Both the mod and the remaining town players acknowledged that they'd have probably gone with lynching Kassadin anyway, and scum would have won if Jackal had not compromised the game. With that said, I think I am within my rights to consider this a win, even though it wasn't official.
Good quotes from this game:
- "Well played Uber, you had me fooled." – BBmolla
- "Patience UberNinja, patience." – Slandaar
- "Uber played a hell of a game." – BBmolla
Mini 1296: A Normal Mini Normal (modded by redFF; lost in 2012 crash)
- I was a VT. Town lost this game because scum lurked and town tore itself to pieces thanks to idiots like kuribo screaming at everyone instead of scumhunting. SaintKerrigan played an OK game as scum, but I was on to him. Wheelloon played an exemplary game, but I still caught on to him before I died. I spent a good portion of Day 1 and Day 2 thinking Amrun was scum incorrectly, but I changed my mind at the end. Unfortunately, by that time nobody was listening to reason, and they followed kuribo off a cliff, as he suspected neither of the scum and was intent on pushing lynches on townies. There was a quick lynch of Bub Bidderskins on Day 1, and it was terrible. He was obviously a townie and he never should have been lynched. jilynne1991 was OK in this game, but should have spent more time scumhunting and less time talking about herself. She was obviously town but at the same time was a potential mislynch because of things she'd said, so scum didn't kill her off. Unfortunately she didn't use that to her advantage at all, and was kinda useless. Slandaar was in this game, and was kinda useless as well. The mod of this game was also not my favorite (at all); when I complained about some heinous comments kuribo made, redFF replied with "kuribo can say whatever he wants". Not what I expected, and definitely not what I wanted to hear. When I think twice about it, I tend to conclude that he wanted scum to win. He obviously he saw how divisive and hateful kuribo was being, dividing the town sharply. Not telling him to tone it back was quite unfair to town players. That is only my opinion, but I have no reason to believe otherwise. This entire game leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Losing wasn't that bad because I knew it wasn't my fault. But it was unpleasant in just about every way possible.
Good quotes from this game:
- "@ UberNinja: Are you an alt of God?" – SaintKerrigan
- "UberNinja is impressing me with [his] reads but nobody is listening to [him]." – redFF (the mod, in the dead QT)
- "UberNinja was so town it bled." – SaintKerrigan (the scum godfather, postgame)
Newbie 1206 (modded by sotty7; mostly lost in the 2012 Crash)
- I was a cop. This game was probably my favorite that I've played on this site so far. I replaced in soon after the game had begun, and from what I could tell, it had started out pretty normally. RayFrost was the IC in the game, and the two SE players were Lastsurvivor and Dean Harper (later Chrimi). The players were getting into the game with a fair amount of gusto, and I decided to join them in their efforts. I picked out two people quite early on (by post seven of the game) who I thought were scum: RayFrost and Metabot. Most of it was due to a comment made by Metabot, but I was only 50% right. During the first day, Gunhaver replaced in for somebody, and I decided he was as good a target as any to start reaction-testing on. I launched a scathing attack on him, accusing him of all sorts of things, notably of being an alt and not a newbie. He defended as best he could, but others began to pile on his wagon along with me. I didn't know what the outcome would be of my reaction test, but it turned out that others' reactions to it were just as valuable in determining alignments as his own reaction. Gunhaver was town. Moving on, I tested RachMarie next. She also proved to be town via her reactions. At the end of my reaction tests on both of them, I knew that RayFrost needed to be lynched. He had been lurking, promising content "later" (and not delivering), and in most ways just utterly failing in his role as the game's IC. I knew I wouldn't be able to forgive myself if he was able to win the game while playing in this manner, so I was a major proponent of his lynch. I wasn't sure he would flip scum, but it was close enough and he had been scummy enough that I really didn't care. He had lots of experience and I'll be damned if I'm going to let an "IC" nametag make a difference. So, he flips town and we go into night. By this time I either have a fairly clear read on people (Gunhaver, RachMarie, and a few others) or I'm simply not sure on them. One of the people who I wasn't very sure on was Lastsurvivor, and he seemed experienced enough to take in quite a few people. Oh, I've forgotten something. During Day 1, I asked for Doc protection that night, and RachMarie said something like "If there is a Doc, I'm sure they heard you". This basically confirmed her as town (and Doc!) to me, but RayFrost (who was voting her at the time) did not unvote, and so I was sure he was scum because why else would he try to get the doc lynched, and hope that nobody else noticed her breadcrumb? So that was another big reason I wanted him gone. I thought he was being sinister, and had spotted it as well, and was trying to fool us all. So Night 1 rolls around, and Lastsurvivor was sticking out to me as the clear investigation target. I investigated him, and sure enough, he turned up scum. So I knew Day 2 would be all about finding his scum buddy. Challenge accepted. I started Day 2 very nonchalantly. The scum had killed Gunhaver, nearly confirmed townie. Not a bad choice. Their first choice had been me, but in the mafia QT they had decided not to because they were worried that the doc (if there was one) would decide to listen to my plea for protection (Hint: It was RachMarie, and she did listen!). I began doing the exact same thing as Day 1; reaction fishing and systematically determining the alignments of everyone I could, whether good or bad, as efficiently as possible. Only today, one of my targets was someone who I knew without a doubt was scum. Lastsurvivor was a tricksy little hobbit, and tried his utmost to weasel out from under my all-seeing eye. But he didn't account for the fact that I knew, without a doubt, that he was scum, and therefore had obscene amounts of confirmation bias and confident rhetoric to throw at him. It wasn't very fair, and I admit he did an excellent job trying to allay suspicion. But I was outspoken enough to sway opinion against him. My real goal of the day was not to get him lynched. That was a foregone conclusion and I knew that'd happen one way or another: I could claim at any time and get him lynched via my cop result. The only thing which was particularly worrisome that day was trying to find his scumbuddy, or at least someone I was confident enough was his scumbuddy to investigate them and hopefully get another guilty result. I wavered all throughout Day 2, between Luckyjt (I eventually saw enough stuff from him that could not possibly be scum-motivated, and wrote him off as LS' buddy), Elmo TeH AzN (he was a strong contender, particularly early on, but during the later moments of the day said some things I think were conclusive enough to let him live another day or so), Chrimi (really the only person who gave me extreme amounts of pause; I very nearly investigated him instead of...), Metabot (who I had pegged as scum very early on, as I mentioned earlier, and I very much could not resolve the things he did, against a town mindset). So it was between Chrimi and Metabot, and I agonized a good portion of the latter part of Day 2, reaction testing them both mercilessly. I had made up my mind to try to draw out a fake counter-claim from somebody, and since there had been no other power role claims (I had a very strong suspicion that RachMarie was the doc, and I wanted to figure out if anyone else would counter-claim my cop claim, or claim another power role, so I could catch them!), I decided to go for it. I also thought it'd be a significant reaction test to insinuate that I had a guilty result on Metabot. Ultimately, his reaction to it was the reason I decided to investigate him that night. I asked for Doc protection once again (and once again, RachMarie replied with "I am sure the Doctor heard you, Uber"... *facepalm*), and we went into Night 2. I investigated Metabot, and just as planned... wait! Day 3 dawned, and I had been the one killed! Had I been wrong about RachMarie being the doctor? No! What was this! I clicked the dead QT link in my death notification post, and sotty7's "Welcome Uber, hot shot cop." made my ears burn red with embarrassment. Had I been wrong all along? Noooooo! I was so sure! ... So, I asked sotty7 if I could have the results of my investigation as long as I didn't share them with anyone else. She agreed, and told me that Metabot as well had a guilty result. Oh, vindication! How happy I was! I watched the game with anticipation, knowing that everyone would read my comments at the end of Day 2 and lynch Metabot and soon we would all be back in the thread rejoicing about a glorious town victory! But instead, they decided to quicklynch Luckyjt, an innocent bystander! And soon after, the unthinkable happened. Tragedy struck, and the whole game was lost to the aether. Luckily, I was able to recover most of it through the cache feature on Google (I wanted my team to win, dammit!). But I couldn't recover the whole game, just about 90% of it, and when the forum finally came back, sotty7 had decided not to continue the game after all! I was pretty bummed, so I decided to sweet-talk her into finishing it. As it turned out, the dear sweet Haylen also had a copy of the destroyed game, and hers was even more complete than my own! About 95% of the game had been saved! There was a bit of lead time trying to get sotty7 to agree to continue the game, and a little difficulty getting the downloaded game into a manageable format for everyone else, but after a while, everyone was back in the game again, and things got underway. Long story short, Metabot killed off Chrimi, leaving an endgame of himself, RachMarie, and Elmo TeH AzN. Unfortunately, he was able to buddy up to RachMarie and sweet talk her into lynching Elmo TeH AzN with him, despite some very obvious scum tells he committed while trying to secure the win. But secure it he did, and as much as I don't like to admit it, he did what was necessary to get the win, and that's all that matters in this game. So, hats off to the scum and especially to the mod and Haylen, who did their best to get the game going again after it was destroyed by the crash! I had a ton of fun and hope to play more games like this in the future!

Mini 1318: This Little Town (modded by Oversoul)
- I was a Goon. This was a very fun game, though I expect not for everyone. Day 1 was a complete disaster. MusicNinja basically claimed scum, and we were able to get a Day 1 hammer within 3 pages. It certainly helped that everybody and their mama piled on the lynch while mastin and I stayed off of it. I'll say for sure that it was a very diverse group of townies, and blending in was much, much easier than it should have been. Things went ever-so-right for almost the entire game. We started out with me voting for MusicNinja for "legitimate" reasons, bringing the game out of RVS after only one page. Next, two or three more votes piled up in quick succession. MusicNinja flipped out and went postal, and he claimed scum and said he'd reveal his scumbuddies if we'd leave him alive. That's a claim you never let live, so more people climbed on until he was at L-1. MonkeyMan576 poked his head in and asked if he should hammer. We told him GO AWAY MONKEYMAN. YOU ARE NOT IN THIS GAME. Then all of a sudden, vijay2vasandani shows up and votes for MusicNinja, hammering him. Then a few minutes later, he posts and says "whoops, that was the hammer?" Already things were going swimmingly for scum. I even predicted this in our scum QT: "This could potentially be a massacre, if things go right for us." And it was. Having day talk as scum is an extremely powerful tool (if you use it, of course), and we were able to turn just about everything happening into an advantageous situation for us. If I mod a game in the future, I'm really going to be careful about balance if I ever give day talking abilities to the scum. I'll say it again: it's an extremely powerful tool. After Night 1, we had two more deaths on our hands: Internet Stranger and kortul. And it's a good thing I decided at the last minute that we should change our kill from charter to kortul, too. He was a Gunsmith and had inspected me that night and found out I had a gun! That could potentially have been very problematic, especially because we knew there was already a vigilante in the game (due to the two kills) and I couldn't very well claim that. I mean, I could have, but it would likely have been shot right out of the sky because the other vigilante was an odd night vigilante, and why would a mod put a regular vigilante and then an odd night vigilante on top of that? i.e. Why not an odd and even? So basically, if I had claimed anything other than an even night vigilante, I was pretty much jiggered. Luckily it never came to that, and kortul's death went through nicely. The second day was almost as easy as the first. We had a great number of scummy things to pick out of other people's posts, and mastin and I were both competent enough to bounce accusations off each other without ever causing too much suspicion of one another. We were the two players in the spotlight at the end of Day 1, and attacking each other mercilessly. I thought it would be much more of a challenge than it was, to back off from each other and start attacking other players. Both of us gave token reads about The Mini-Librarian throughout the game, and he was in good enough standing in the town (as in, one of the most trusted) that nobody ever thought much about him being scum until the very last day, by which time it was far too late to do anything about it, especially when vijay2vasandani was still alive after having quick hammered *twice* without allowing the person being wagoned to claim first. That's someone you don't allow to stay alive, no matter what. Meanwhile, Day 2 we got hiplop lynched, even though I had been heavily pushing for a pieceofpecanpie lynch due to "reasons I couldn't really explain." Night 2 we killed off ... nobody. It turned out when Day 3 dawned that pieceofpecanpie had been jailed by someone and so our kill on him hadn't gone through. We considered this a near-calamity, except that kdowns asked pieceofpecanpie what he did the night before, and pecanpie retorted with something to the effect of "you tell me first, then I'll tell you." This didn't go over well with the town at all, and they wagoned him up to L-1 again. While we waited for a claim, vijay2vasandani waltzed in again and threw *yet another* quick hammer on pecanpie. We veritably wiggled in our chairs for joy, in the scum QT. This game was winning itself; all we had to do was sit back and let it do it's thing. That night, we killed kdowns, the claimed jailkeeper, and this time it went through. So we had only one more day left to go. Day 4 dawned, and before lynching vijay, we went through the motions of a token mass claim. mastin had a fancy Jack of all Trades claim that he pulled out of his ass, but it was ultimately unnecessary. Vijay was far and away the most popular lynch for the day, and people didn't hesitate (except for mastin, who wanted only townies to be on the game-losing lynch for them). The Mini-Librarian and myself were able to convince mastin to just go ahead and put the town out of their misery, and so he did. The hammer was dropped, and the game was won. This was my first perfect victory as scum, and would have been the second, except for my scumbuddy outing himself and me in Newbie 1201. So far I'm 2-0 as scum, and I regard that as a badge of pride! I know my undefeated record as scum won't last forever, but I'm going to have fun trying to make it last as long as I can!
Good quotes from this game:

- "If it weren't for mastin, UberNinja would look like the human torch right about now." – hiplop
- "If I run into MusicNinja in real life I might just punch him in the face." – The Mini-Librarian
- "Uberninja, you're either crazy or scum." – hiplop
- "Fuck, I was terribly wrong on my reads of UN and Mastin. Good game, you totally fooled me." – Bub Bidderskins
- "I had awesome scumbuddies" – mastin2
