GL made a great post about modding here: http://www.mafiascum.net/forum/viewtopic.php?p=569509#569509 Someone in General Discussion suggested to Wiki it, so now I'm working on this. Comments? Andycyca me ^_^ What? 02:30, 3 October 2007 (MDT)

I'm on it. Copypasted, uploaded pics and first wiki formatting. Comments? Help? Andycyca me ^_^ What? 23:39, 3 October 2007 (MDT)

Thanks for picking this up, I was going to do it myself... eventually. If you want help with anything in particular, let me know. Erg0 04:08, 4 October 2007 (MDT)

Needs more credit where credit is due.

All this article, as I said, belongs in its entirety to GreenLiquid in Mafiascum.net. It's hosted as a subpage of mine just for editing reasons, but the ideas and the writing aren't mine. Andycyca||me||What? 17:00, 9 October 2007 (MDT)

About moving and subpages.

First of all, thanks a lot MoS and Flay for moving this! I was seeing the Recent Changes and I saw that you guys had some trouble with this, I don't know why and it doesn't matter.

When I copypasted GL's (and when I started writing the Spam Guide) I created them as subpages. Why? This was my plan:

  1. Create the subpage as a draft.
  2. Start wikiediting
  3. Once finished, create the actual article copypasting from the subpage
  4. Add {{deleteme}} to the subpage and wait for a kind sysop.

Long story short: use subpages as draft pages because I see them constantly on my User and delete them afterwards in order to avoid possible redirection problems.

But now I wonder, what is the best thing to do: create the article as draft subpage and delete it afterwards OR just create the article and wikiedit from there? I want to know for my future contributions and to avoid unnecesary sysop work. Andycyca||me||What? 22:22, 10 October 2007 (MDT)

Normally, page moves are not a problem, there was just some unfortunate confusion between talkspace and articlespace. On the oter hand, a wiki is inherently a work in progress, so if you want to create the page at the eventual title, no one will object (use the {{ComingSoon}} template if you want to keep others from messing with it too much while you're copyediting). -- Mr. Flay 22:34, 10 October 2007 (MDT)
Most of that was me screwing up with the wiki because I don't use it much. So I pmed Mr. Flay and he fixed it for me. My bad. - Mastermind of Sin

page title

i have mixed feelings about this wiki page title... while i think it is entirely appropriate for Green Liquid to get the credit, i'm not sure that credit is necessary in the title of the page... on the other hand, i don't want the title to sound official either...

I support creating a "Credits" section for this page, explaining why this is here (Because it's a useful guide on a very important subject, written by a "veteran"). I don't want to be rude, but the title "Modding Guide by Green Liquid" sounds way too official... and maybe new users may think that uploading every single mafia essay/guide here is OK under the title "by Someone", but I don't think this wiki is for essay sharing, except maybe for the userpages. Just My 2 cents Andycyca||me||What? 00:41, 11 October 2007 (MDT)

This article is named with Green Liquid in the title because there are a lot of pages on modding that are all collected on the How to Mod page. The other articles explain a lot of what modding entails. I could see having it without the name, but it works either way. We can always move it to Modding Guide later if we think that's better. - Mastermind of Sin

Maybe we should just let GL decide... after all, this is his work Andycyca||me||What? 14:30, 12 October 2007 (MDT)
what does the Grey Labyrinth have to do w/ this?.. ;)
