Hi! Welcome!

I take notes on my games here, as well as a couple other things.

Unfortunately I don't have comments for Terror, Steam VN and MKUltra, and I think there's a few more MS games I haven't tracked here. I've since started playing on another site, but I'll try and keep this somewhat up to date, though maybe won't have comments every game :)

Looks like I can't link to outside games, oh well.

My MS profile can be found here. You can also contact me on Discord at Keychain #9808.

Town Jailkeeper - Killed Night 1 - Mafia Win - Keychain Loss

I was super transparent newbie town, and unfortunately got killed on the very first night. Perfect mafia win, I didn't call either of them through the entire thing (except for a draft I never posted, I have since discovered) but I did fight for the lynchbait townie who ended up getting mislynched D1 anyway. Played all right but apparently was easy to push around by scum.

~2 year hiatus~

I stopped playing. Then I came back.

Newbie 1805: Emperor

Vanilla Townie - Killed Night 2 - Mafia Win - Keychain Loss

I eventually managed to pick the right side in the explosive 1v1 that happened D2 between Prism and RadiantCowbells, though I didn't push it as hard as I should have and the wrong lynch went through when Prism gave up and selfhammered. I got killed N2 and scum pulled off a perfect win in LyLo. I really enjoyed this one!

Mafia Encryptor - Replaced Out Day 1 - Town Win

First scum roll. I couldn't cope with the activity level. I was replaced by Vedith, who was replaced by ThinkBig.

Micro 735: Greater Idea

Town Nurse - Endgamed Day 2 - Werewolf Win - Keychain Loss

Five town, two werewolves, one alien and one mafia. Srceenplay's dayvig D1 was the best thing ever, my relentless tunnel on one of my two remaining teammates D2... eh, not so much. Like it was actually half and half town and scum factions, I had a better chance of hitting scum than town considering my own alignment, and I still went wrong.

I sent out PMs to all the other players postgame and got some great advice though.

Mafia Goon - Lynched Day 2 - Mafia Win - Keychain Win

First game as scum! First win! The excitement is real! Got totally screwed by Prism meta reading the hell out of me, but Vic Sage (Jingle) won it for us. I'm happy with NKing the cop who was fakeclaiming BP, and I'm pretty happy I didn't leave too many tracks back to Jingle. But otherwise this was pretty cringe. I made a couple posts that were not much better than outright scumclaims, and I pretty much flailed the whole way through.

(I support daytalk for newbie scum. Watching my newbie partners flake one after the other was terrible.)

Mafia Watcher/Tracker - Vigged Night 4 - Town Win - Keychain Loss

I played this game as hydra Penn and Teller with NotTheRealPaul.

This game got pretty bad at points - apathetic town, mod errors and busyness, and angleshooting and accusations of cheating. But the scum daytalk made up for all of that in enjoyment. There was witchcraft.

This was my first mini, and it took a while to get a handle on it. We managed to get mostly townread early, but over time town roleclaiming had us pretty much confirmed as scum through PoE by MyLo, and yet we still managed to lynch a lurker instead and got vigged that night. Town finally their got their heads on the right way round and won 3P LyLo in a few hours. I am panicky scum, confirmed - thank god Zachstralkita had a level head.

Mafia Goon - Survived to Endgame - Mafia Win - Keychain Win

In my opinion this has been my best played game so far, and it was a great setup. I really improved from Dystopia.

This was the first game as scum that I didn't feel crazily out of my depth, so I was actually able to try things a bit more deliberately like pocketing, assessing townies for how easily I could manipulate them and how much of a danger they posed, planning in advance and other things. Setup meant that I could focus on players instead of PRs, and having Chosen townies that I needed to lynch meant that I had an agenda to pursue rather than just "don't get lynched".

It was huge fun! Lovely group of people as well. Dunnstral gets special mention for posting almost exclusively in pictures. It was beautiful.

Mini 1942: Switchboard 2

Mafia Goon - Lynched Day 4 - Town Win - Keychain Loss

This game went very badly for us. The setup was breakable (but town didn't break it so yay), but we made a very bad N1 kill choice based on a hider crumb that didn't pan out due to the switch mechanic, a member of our team scumslipped an intended PM to the mod and got quicklynched D3, we made some crucial mistakes on D4, and basically town deserved this win! They played well.

It was fun though, mostly. A supportive team is always great, and in general the game was pretty friendly and the town was on to it. I found my reads tend to crystallise as scum and don't really adapt, something I'll have to try and work on. I also learnt never to trust town to believe a hider guilty, no matter how obvious the crumb.

Newbie 1821: The Newlywed Game

Vanilla Townie - Killed Night 2 - Mafia Win - Keychain Loss

I replaced into this game as an SE end of D1, got that sweet sweet VT role PM, and managed to get a good read on scum and then follow that through to the lynch. First time ever that I've lynched scum as town! Got twisted around the next day though, and didn't pay enough attention to my predecessor's top scumread and instead let her lurk while newbtown (who had been innoed by the tracker) got lynched. Then I got killed.

The tracker's crumb on her second inno got missed after her death, and both remaining townies replaced out. It was the lurkiest LyLo ever, and even though Sunlit Diamond came to the right conclusion, the other townie wasn't around to hammer scum so Sunlit hammered him instead at the last minute to avoid losing via no lynch.

Open 700: Donner Party

Modded by CommKnight

Mafia Goon - Killed Night 1 - Town Win - Keychain Loss

This was going to be a good game! I rolled scum with previous scumbuddy PMysterious, I was quite enjoying myself and getting into it, my N1 kill shortlist was 2/3 town PRs, then SK Assemblerotws killed me. Ah well. It's destiny that if PM and I get scum together, we can't both make it to Day 2. Happy with killing the gunsmith and having PM carry out the kill so the flip wasn't revealed on my death.

Since my flip was only revealed to Assemble, it was pretty gratifying that I continued to be townread by multiple living townies, and it allowed PM to claim SK to avoid being lynched D2 by instilling the worry in town that both mafia were still alive. He came so close when he crossvoted in LyLo and tried to convince havingfitz that Not_Mafia was the remaining mafia and that Fitz was kingmaker. Since it's polite to give the win to the SK in kingmaker scenarios, this almost worked out for us, but Fitz did vote the claimed scum.

Yellow YellowMafia Easel - Survived to Endgame - YellowMafia Win - Keychain Win

My first large, of course I rolled scum. Summary is that being a redirector kept me alive because I kept getting confirmed blue even though my dayplay was rubbish. We cleared all three members of the team still living after D1 through strategic use of Raskolnikov's paintbrush and my easel. Night actions were worth being proud of!

Mini Normal 1964: Hell Is 56k Dialup

Town 2-Shot Cop - Killed Night 1 - Town Win - Keychain Win

Super happy with how I played here. Had solid scumreads on two scum (hard defended lurkerscum Dunnstral though :/), developed good townreads on a number of townies, managed to tell the difference between play I disagreed with and scum. I was a PR and got killed N1 after we lynched scum. Katyusha was absolutely town MVP, she was stellar and so was most of the town. Scum didn't submit a kill N2 but I think even if they had we would have won this considering schadd_ was tracking single remaining scum Dunn iirc. It was a brilliant game by town.

The Mod is Mafia

Modded by mastina

Mafia Goon - Survived to Endgame - Mafia Win - Keychain Win

I played this as Stalfos, a hydra with Prism.

Very bastard game (the mod was literally mafia and could carry out kills) - we were in the randomised scumteam and the handpicked one, so scum no matter what. Town got very demotivated. Mostly I played this one solo. We bussed Radiant Moonlight kind of for fun, camn was under the radar all game while Mathblade was on top of it. It was a very scary scumteam. Our slot was repeatedly referred to as "Prism" and "the Prism hydra", which was frustrating since I was doing most of the posting. I played okay, was never really under threat of being lynched I believe, and did some scum theatre with RadiantCowbells before his slot got lynched that was pretty fun.

Micro 759: Tarot uPick III

Town 1- or 2-Shot Conditional Roleblocker - Survived to Endgame - Town Win - Keychain Win

I played this very badly, especially D1. I locked on scum early and got them lynched after nothing from their slot really changed my read, but there's really no fun in that when I was being stupidly obstinate about it to the point of Varsoon becoming incredibly toxic towards the end of the day because of how no one was engaging him and letting him play the game. I nearly replaced out D1 but ended up talking with nancy in realtime, who neighbourised me N1. I got a bit better as the game went on and eventually sheeped northsidegal when we got into a bit of a deadlock, to lynch the final scum.

I don't think I played as well as I could have, but this was partially due to outside factors. Overall more engagement with the thread and more work in analysing players instead of pretty much phoning it in for the majority of the game would resulted in a better and more enjoyable experience.

Micro 768: Geriatric Grey Flag Nightless

Modded by Lord Gurgi

Mafia Goon - Survived to Endgame - Mafia Win - Keychain Win

Geriatric ruleset was nice, nightless and white flag mechanic were tough. I was pretty lurky and should have stayed more active but managed to keep out of trouble until Jingle started ruling out scumteams and voted me in LyLo. Luckily he was convinced otherwise and we got insanity018 (my scum partner) to use her towncred to push a lynch on Hopkirk. Our third scumbuddy was a slot that was pretty much absent for most of the game due to multiple replacements who didn't quite have time for it, and the mod was a wee bit lax on prodding. With the white flag mechanic, our team needed to keep the slot out of trouble especially once I was more likely to get lynched.

Geriatric ruleset made for a pretty scary LyLo from the active players like Hopkirk, who were able to reread and analyse the whole game. And spectator RC townread me, so that's promising for my scumgame. I also quite liked not having deadlines - the town set the pace.

~Memory gap~

There's a few games here without comments, and a few that I haven't got in my list.

Mafia451: Chosen

Modded by Ellibereth

Mafia Goon - [Survived to Endgame] - Mafia Win - Keychain Win

This game had an element of being able to pick your alignment, with the scumteam being selected from the players who picked scum if there were enough. I was keen to play scum in another Chosen game, and continued to ride a little bit on the fact that people generally think I don't like scum and that the game was full of players who like scum and would absolutely pick it. Unfortunately our Chosen players weren't any of them, so we just killed off the strong voices early, bussed my partner for the extra day until LyLo and leaned on townie disputes until we could get a lynch on never-picking-scum northsidegal for lurking. The last kill was a good choice, helped manipulate a new player into taking my side. Overall played this game pretty low energy though.

Quotes

Newbie 1617: Sunhead Mafia

"Keychain - this is a difficult slot to assess. She is clear headed and knows what's up.

...

She is a 'weak' player (in a figurative sense, in that she is easy to push around), but a kill on her might not be bad."

- DrDolittle

"Keychain, being town means many a times you'll be wrong."

- YurikoJasmine

Newbie 1805: Emperor

"Keychain was great. She tried her best. She tried her best to get the right answer. She tried her best to care. Town MVP."

- Prism

"I agree! You were scary. There was a reason I tried to buddy you right away :P"

- RadiantCowbells

"keychain mostly do the same thing except with better read accuracy"

- acidphoenix

Newbie 1808: Dystopia!

"Keychain is really obvious town and their scumgame is on a completely different level lol (in a bad way)"

- Mulch

"Yeah, you did fine. You'll get much better in time. I thought you were very good and at least could bullshit reasoning better than most newbie scum."

- Mulch

"Keychain is the type of player that is going to respond to and encourage everyone."

- Prism

"Key? Cause I see a lot of potential in her and like her playstyle. I'm genuinely interested in seeing how she grows as a player and am always happy to watch the newbies blossom like that."

- Jingle

Mini 1930: Titus's Old Music Playlist Mafia

"Activate your super duper duper towniness, Keychain. Don't forget you guys pocketed Famethyst. I'm working on processes in the spirit world to haunt NTRP with the ghost of Boonskiies."

- Zachstralkita

"Keychain is doing good. We're okay."

- Zachstralkita

Micro 737: Chosen Mafia

"Special congrats to Keychain for her come-from-behind victory!"

- Umlaut

"In general, you've been well reasoned which is why I've wanted to townread you, but now I think you are just good at that"

- tman2nd

"You did a good job of sounding reasonable and townlike."

- tman2nd

Mini 1942: Switchboard 2

"If she is town, and she can point herself in the right direction, she'll be great. She really has potential. If she's scum, I think we'll see it fairly soon."

- Chickadee

"I do feel bad for the scumteam. When I read the setup closely, I initially thought I was missing something because six PRs in a game with a completely open setup was ridiculously townsided. Not to mention the Flubber's scumslip in thread made it impossible to come back from. Really impressed that they continued fighting against impossible odds. I honestly thought there was going to be a lot of complaining in the scum thread but then I saw none of that and just being supportive."

- BlackVoid

"I thought Keychain was very convincing and would have been very hard to catch if not for being in a cc with Creature. IAI was fantastic, left me unsure even when the evidence was stacking up. Way too many scum players tend to just get toxic and pass it off as good scumplay so it was great to watch real good scumplay for once. I think both of you would have easily endgamed in a more balanced setup with a similar playerlist."

- BlackVoid

"For once a decent town beat a decent scum team. IAI and Keychain were good, and Aubrey, Molligner, Blackvoid were excellent as town."

- mozamis

Newbie 1821: The Newlywed Game

"At the same time, if you're town I want you alive, ideally cleared by pr, because I think your reads are good so I don't really want to push on you today."

- RadiantCowbells

Open 700: Donner Party

"I'm still mulling over keychain's death. My mind keeps telling me she's dead mafia, but I have no real reason to think that other than "lol transcend was town so he was right!" which is not a good reason."

-Porkens

"again, keychain was never really under any risk of being lynched and i seriously doubt she would have been."

-northsidegal

"Man I'm so mad it was so hard to lynch you."

-Transcend

Links and Advice

A great comparison by Prism of my town play in Newbie 1805 and scum play in Newbie 1808

Advice given to me by Vic (Jingle) after my lynch in Newbie 1808

DrDolittle's advice to his scum partner in Newbie 1617

"Basically just play incredibly logic based when making cases, but still use gut and emotion. Try not to hard bus unless the time calls for it. Working together helps a lot more in the long run than trying to distance, in my experience. By all means, acknowledge each other. And if something one of us post doesn't make sense, don't be afraid to call it out in the game thread. Making each other explain things help lead to stronger reasoning and helps other players see your points. Figuring out what cases to make on the go helps seem like you are sorting.

Something that really helped me was when I play scum, see it as a teaching role almost, and punish the players that are making mistakes as town and whatnot. We also see more of each others' mistakes than town will because we have hidden knowledge."

- Boonskiies, Mini 1930: Titus's Old Music Playlist Mafia

"I think a lot of people, town definitely included, underestimate the effect towns completely fucking themselves actually has. Towns will just throw logic away. The gamestate is a tangible thing and if scum control it and the flow then they have a severe advantage.

Strong point of playing scum is to be able to act on the town's mistakes and make it so that the environment they're in can only result in failure."

- Zachstralkita, Mini 1930: Titus's Old Music Playlist Mafia

"Why do you think in dead threads, for some mystical reason, the living town are always terrible and everyone has great reads? It's not cause they've been spoiled, it's because people fail to account for there being a difference from when you're actually uninformed and in the game and when you were uninformed but now know everything. Hindsight is pretty easy to employ."

- Zachstralkita, Mini 1930: Titus's Old Music Playlist Mafia

Wiki Notes

These are notes for me for things to do here. I like this page and I want to look after it.

- Add links to the result of each game because interesting.

- Add links to quotes because sources are the best.

- Link player names to their MS profile instead of their wiki. There's an easy way to link to the wiki page but the actual utility of it is limited since a lot of wiki pages either don't exist or don't really contain anything. So go and add the URLs.

- Add nice comments from recent games. I foresee a time fairly soon that I'm going to need them.
