Note that unless it's an Open Setup, only the mod ever REALLY knows that it's lynch or lose. Doc's and Vigilantes and other special roles can make an apparent lynch or lose situation not really lynch or lose. -- JEEP 2004-05-21 18:55 UTC

I contest the last sentence in this article. I've never seen it referred to that way. Actually, there's a whole host of things on the wiki that seem to have only appeared once and the player who sees them adds them to the wiki as a matter of course. I don't believe the wiki should be used as a tool for creating and spreading mafia jargon, or for self-promotion, which articles like Germy's Gambit and terminology only ever used once by one player, and roles invented at the drop of a hat by one player, seem to be. Many of the things on the mafiawiki are simply not common enough to warrant inclusion. But that's just me. Shanba 14:52, 30 November 2008 (MST)

I contest the second sentence of your post. :-P I was reading through an old game (Mini 485: Formula One Mafia) and came across this term. You were in this game, incidentally. It was brought up by Zindaras in LyLo but you appeared to understand what it meant. I'm not sure if Zindaras was making up the term, especially when another player seemed to know what he was talking about. I completely agree with you that the wiki should not be used for the purposes you mentioned. If this not an occasionally used phrase, as I've mentioned it, to distinguish the two types of LyLo, then, yes, what I added can be edited out. 129.170.80.124 17:07 EST, November 30, 2008
Heh. That's interesting (and thank you for reminding me of that game), because that's not what Zindaras meant (and now what I immediately understood, until he explained it to me). He was talking about 6p as opposed to 5p lylo (or any even numbered lylo as opposed to it's odd numbered counterpart) where it is impossible for scum to quicklynch because of one wrong town vote - two are needed instead. I haven't seen it before, or since, and I think it was more of an ad hoc descriptive term than an obscure piece of mafia jargon. TBH, I'm more worried about pages like Germy's gambit (which appears to be a decription of bussing?) or the random bits of mafiascum history (QuoteBook) springs to mind. Also, Army Veteran I'm pretty sure is normally known as either a one-shot vig or a paranoid gun owner, at least on mafiascum.Shanba 11:11, 1 December 2008 (MST)
