He was a math major at Harvey Mudd. He transfered to a community college in Marin after 8 semesters at Mudd during which he discovered two things: he disliked Mudd; and, Mudd disliked him. Fortunately it only took 8 semesters to figure those out. He met his wife at that CC, so it worked out well.

If you were a quizbowler in Southern California from 1999-2001, we might have met. Those were good times.

Distad is named after a very small farm town in central Norway. How small? There are two farms. Small farms. Population: 3. Maybe 4.
