Style

I like playing town and my favourite part of the game is trying to read people and their motivations. I love it when I can go really in depth trying to figure someone out and sometimes I come away learning a bit about them! More than directly scumreading people I try to find town and then PoE the scum, along with ruling out partner associations.

I get scumread a lot and have trouble with my appearance so I often play very reserved or defensive especially early game. I'm always indecisive and second guessing and I come off as self-conscious even as town.

Scum is too stressful for me to enjoy, playing PR is annoying because I have to worry even more about dying than usual, and I prefer games that are decided on raw scumhunting rather than PRs or weird setup mechanics.

Prefer to be a Pro-Town Player.

Newbie 1712	Newbie	Town VT	Mafia	Loss	A tough loss. Didn't take day 1 seriously, which made BBT tunnel me for most of the remaining game and though it wavered at points that scumread never went away. D2 my scumreads were on 1 scum 1 town but I ended up lynching my weaker scumread (on town) since nobody wanted to lynch the scum, I was being heavily pushed, and the townie was 100% scumreading me and I feared would make a lylo unwinnable in the event of the other lynch being wrong. D3 was really good since I lynched scum and managed to townread BBT, but d4 I couldn't defend myself to him who was conftown'd vs the analytical scum in 3p and I basically lost from the day 1 mishaps. Lesson learned is not to risk my appearance too hard on reaction tests, and not post strange theories which weird people out, even if it is technically telling the truth.

Mini 1796	Mini Normal	Town Cop	Mafia	Loss	Whoops. Mislynched drmyshotty d1 but to be fair he was refusing to work with anyone and self voting. Someone quickhammered him and I cop'd them to find an inno, but I didn't defend him too much because I was worried I'd give myself away. I was unaware though scum had already rolecop'd me based on me crumbing day 1 and were committed to killing me by then anyways. The game went on to Transcend scum bussing his partners and keeping JK alive in order to use his 1-shot strongman so very WP to him here. On the town side Dunnstral was pretty impressive d1 in his reads and obvtowning which made him the nk n1, and the remaining town were decent enough to take it to 3p so I think it was an alright game. Had I lived my second cop check would've been a guilty but my reads were still bad bad and I shouldn't have crumbed as I did, overall poor play from me here.

I was really panicking here from pre-game because Ranger was in the game as well as F-oh-x who I respected from seeing in his other newbie game, with Beeboy in the SE slot. I was having panic attacks especially d1 and even though I tried so hard to look town Beeboy suspected me, Ranger was paranoid about townreading me and F-oh-x was worried as well; it was like they all scumread me via gut but just didn't have the evidence to pursue it and were just waiting for me to give it. It was terrifying and on top of it my partner had flaked early. Luckily for me town misplayed hard, someone quickhammering ended d1 early and let me kill Ranger which gave me some breathing room. D2 my new partner Mhssmith showed up who's a pretty cool guy and played great, getting townread by everyone. We return lynched the quickhammerer d2, killed F-oh-x who was cop and made it to 5p lylo with only beeboy really scumreading me. Zyf was a very active newbie who obvtowned to everyone, who I buddied all game, and sickofit was the third town I also buddied though he was scumread by the town. The game was decided just from bringing these 3 into lylo as even if I was lynched sick would've been the return partner (mis)lynch, or sick would have been an easy direct lynch, but how it ended was I pushed 1v1 with beeboy and sick voted there. Alright play but the fact is most of the experienced players still scumread me, also feel bad for winning this based on that quickhammer and return lynch.

641:Carbon14	Open	Town VT	Town	Win	Town gutread each other, especially Creature and Transcend, right from rvs before scum even started posting and we were talking townblocks and PoEing scum incredibly early. Not_Mafia was very scummy but claimed Cop so people ended up lynching my good townread S_S, even though I really wanted the Not_Mafia or Ranger lynch. Day 2 Not_Mafia got lynched because the real cop was nightkilled disproving his claim, and Day 3 Ranger essentially scumclaimed to me via VT claim. It made Transcend the confirmed town as seer, and he strong townread me as well so it was a quick win there. Very weird game from all the gut and emotion reads and "trust" as opposed to normal casing and logic in most of my games but it was fun in the end. Reads were decent as I scumread both scum d1 although I also scumread the cop there as my third, but good play from Creature and Transcend, plus Ranger losing motivation early made the win easy in the end.

Mini 1762	Mini Normal	Town VT	Town	Win	Oh boy. This game started early february and dragged on and on to finally end in may. I had begun and finished literally 6 games in the span of playing this one and no joke changed as a player over the course of this game just on those lessons learned. Day 1 stretched to no-lynch because people were indecisive and due to scum influence; I had scumread BBT here unfortunately, he got vig'd by 1S vig to essentially replace the d1 lynch. Day 2 stretched out due to replacements and the mod flaking, I messed up and mislynched Beeboy who was town. Day 3 I was finally scumreading the scum, mainly syndesis but also golden robster. I was convinced on syn scum but a bit unsure on GR and the possibility of it being townGR vs scumSyn. GR was the lynch d3 but it didn't erase my syn scumread, RC pointed out it was likely bussing and I held onto my syn scumread for the rest of the game despite their exchange convincing most. Around day 4 more replacements made the day longer, but actually saved the game since the townies replacing out were scumreading me. I couldn't convince town to lynch syndesis here despite all my efforts, but at least I got the lynch off of me, though sadly it was between me and my townread kirroha so I had to hammer town to save myself. I had to convince MagnaofIllusion of me being town here which was really hard since he was very stubborn and this was a near loss, thankfully GiF at least townread me and saved my life there. Day 5 3p lylo I managed to convince MoI and finally get the syndesis lynch, which won the game since last scum was traitor. A very gruelling but satisfying win in the end. Started day 1 still a newbie and by the end I was semi-experienced, I think it's cool you can actually see the progression because of how long this game was, and hilariously people replacing in scumread that massive difference in play from d1 to lylo and I couldn't explain it. Props to RC GiF and Titus as well as MoI for finally changing his mind and Metrion for backup modding; this came very close to being abandoned. Replacements total 7 if I counted that right, what a marathon this was. RIP TheCow.

639:C9++	Open	Town 1sDoc	Town	Win	Townread BBT day 1 and agreed with his dave scumread, but switched to wagon charl later day to try to get some information out of him. Unfortunately town-charl self quickhammered and ended the day early and me + BBT then got killed n1 by Sk and maf respectively. Town pulled it off in the end with really good clutch play so WP to them, and though I didn't have much impact this game because of how the day ended so fast my reads were in the end at least decent.

Scumteam replaced out and we ended up mislynching day 1, but I read the scumteam next day along with strong association between the two so that was it. Lynched one of them d2 and cop guilty on the other ended d3 fast for the win. Of note was JaeReed who drove the game activity, was super obvtown and fun to play with.

My thinking was scum PGO probably wouldn't exist as it'd be really strong and also I couldn't find an instance of it in any other games despite looking really hard for one. But day 1-only PGO makes sense from a balance perspective and writing off unconventional things from a role madness game was really dumb as well. At the very least I scumread the other two scum of kelbris/flubbernugget, but still I want to forget this game ever happened.

Notak 2	Newbie	Town VT	Town	Win	Misread and mislynched fraggernaut day 1, my other scumread was on scum occidentalis(qubixes) at least and I questioned the townread people had on 2nd scum Io. I was then killed night 1 despite being a potential mislynch to everyones confusion, town lynched scum qubxies d2 and got a cop guilty d3 for the win. I don't think scum played that badly but cop just makes games swingy I guess. Really enjoyed playing with nachomamma8 here for the first time, he IC'd very well I felt like I learned a lot from him.

Was busy at the time so getting killed was actually a huge relief here, and there was a universal backup too. I think the setup was town sided with 3mason+UBP, and town did end up steamrolling. My part in this win was pretty minor but at least my reads were decent.

After a mislynch day 1, I quickhammered transcend day 2 which was horrible. Day 3 lylo I would have been lynched if not for the tracker finding scum, and on day 4 3p the claims made me conftown. I screwed up again in my 3p lylo choice and mislynched alexcellent for the loss, I should have townread him but I was too paranoid of his experience as a player. Pretty much single-handedly lost this for town, at the very least d1 was fun and the playerlist was cool. Probably my worst town play but everyone was nice and didn't rub it in.

What happened was my partner Kublai Khan got heavily wagoned as suicide-bomber and I tried to save him because I didn't want to lose him that early. Because he was very busy IRL he didn't have time to defend himself though and just exploded. People then found the association bad with me, and I was incredibly demotivated from losing my partner that fast so didn't put up much of a fight from there. Despite how almost all of day had gone, I was lynched d1 in the end as day continued after the suicide.

1747:Cinn. Roll Mafia	Mini Normal	Town VT	Mafia	Loss	My only replace so far, I replaced into this game towards the end of day 2, and diverted the lynch from scum iraonvp onto town. I hard townread that scum and my reads were pretty bad, and I was mislynched the following day based on me being all over the place and my previous slot owner opposing the day 1 lynch which was on scum. After my mislynch town still had a chance due to cop living, but he checked godfather heading into 5p lylo which sealed the deal, though a cop-check comeback would've been pretty cheap anyways. Aside from my reads being horrendous, I noticed I never saw the game the same way as others; I wasn't there for d1/2 and I found it really hard to go through and read all the pages at the time. Probably would enjoy being a replacement now a bit more but as a newb it was a bad idea for me.

Here at least a few people townread me or were undecided, if I had played slightly better I'd probably have avoided day 1 lynch. On the bright side I really defended performer before I got lynched leading people to wagon him next day since they thought he was my partner. UTL my real partner was heavily scumread at the time too so Massive, our other partner had to hammer performer there to buy UTL another day which was pretty sick. In the end Massive managed to avoid lynch even after UTL flip (which made the performer hammer look so much worse) and carried the game for scum. Don't really deserve this win at all, though again rolling scum this much as newb really sucked.

Day 1 I scumread AJ and joined the wagon on him until he (fake)claimed doctor; at the time I didn't know bg-doc was an impossible combination so I wasn't aware it was a 100% scumclaim, but I still scumread him and thought the way he claimed was fake and so pushed for him being lynched anyways. Town then went to wagon Llama but he was one of my strong townreads, so I tried my best to protest and divert that onto a common scumread of town and one of my side scumreads, TKoE, who was the other scum. With him lynched, over-night I remembered again I was BG and thought about why BG-doc wouldn't exist, so I outed and counterclaimed fake-doc AJ next day. A lot of people still scumread me there and my night action was questionable (bg'd AJ just in case I was wrong) but it was a quick lynch on him and pretty easy town win altogether. Amusingly me and most others (not llama though) thought there was a third scum given the size of the playerlist so we chased non-existent associations for most of day 2; overall I thought it might have been a bit T-sided and I had assumed for most of the game it was 3/11 scum with heavy town PRs to compensate (would have made sense with the night start too). Enjoyed playing with these folks even if a few still pushed me the entire game.

1753:League Maf UP	Mini Theme	Mafia Immunizer	Town	Loss	My second mafia game. Was obvscum again, ABR caught me here. Lynched day 1 with partners following next day/night in a total town steamroll. Similar situation as 565 with my play here, except I was ok early-day. I then 180'd on ABR in a way which essentially scumclaimed to him and that got me wagoned. At the very least a few people had townread me here, what ultimately sealed the lynch was me falling for a fakehammer. If I had noticed it was a fakehammer and tried to act town there, there was a chance I'd have survived, but I thought it was real and gave a scum-apathetic reaction which people then hammered on.

Trying to pretend to be town with almost no actual town experience was impossible for me. After the first 2 games I couldn't play more newbies until I SE qualified, and there's a string of games following where its newb-obv-scum me getting destroyed by experienced players.

Newbie 1671	Newbie	Town Cop	Mafia	Loss	My first "real" game since the other one ended before I could really play. Found myself in a few TvTs and unintentionally softed PR to avoid being lynched. Scum laid low day 1 because of both slots inactivity/replacing out and after being forced to hammer a townread to save myself, I got killed for that PR softing. The person I TvT'd with was the next day mislynch and scum then won the 5p lylo managing to lynch kuroiXHF despite him having played obvtown and even doing a major townslip day 1. Main mistake this game was not knowing how to judge replacements and activity when I'm reading someone, and I ended up townreading scum on bad reasoning and having poor reads here. Secondary mistake was PR softing, although without it people may not have backed off and I might have been forced to hardclaim anyways.

Scum hammered but played it off as a newbie mistake, and killed cop night 1. Despite a day 2 lynch on scum the game wasn't at all close, since Dewy, who hammered me, was heavily townread.

In terms of fate, surviving is measured as good as either alignment. NK's are judged neutral as are d3+ deaths including endgame; technically this isn't that accurate since VT fake crumbing pr and getting NK'd is arguably good and PR getting killed night 1 is pretty bad, but this is more about day survivability anyways.
