A no-kill gambit involves scum intentionally not utilizing their nightkill, with the intent of confusing town power roles. For example, if scum no-kills and a Town Roleblocker targets a townie, the Roleblocker may believe he stopped the kill and will gun for the townie as "confirmed scum". The risk in this example is that the Roleblocker might target the scum player, obtaining the correct result via an incorrect assumption.

The effectiveness of this gambit is directly proportional to how many players are still alive and what their roles are:

  • Roleblockers might believe they stopped the kill, which can falsely confirm their target as scum
  • Doctors might believe they stopped the kill, which can falsely confirm their target as town
  • Jailkeepers can be like Doctors or Roleblockers
  • Trackers/Watchers might believe their target went nowhere/did nothing, which can falsely confirm their target as town; note that without something else claiming to stop the kill this will almost always bee detected as a no-kill gambit

A no-kill gambit should only be attempted if the scum know what the town has for PRs and they think they know what said PRs will do.
