Distad is a securities trader in the Bay Area, hence the weird posting times (M-F, 5am-3pm). He doesn't like talking about work, but some possible conversation topics are (not limited to):

He was a math major at Harvey Mudd College during which time he discovered two things: he disliked Mudd, and Mudd disliked him. Fortunately it only took 8 semesters to discover that. He then transfered to a community college in Marin where he met his wife, so it worked out well.

If you were a quizbowler in Southern California from 1999-2001, you might have met him. Those were good times.

Distad is named after a very small farm town in central Norway. How small? There are two farms. Small farms. Population: 3. Maybe 4.
