Newbie 1 was a mafiascum game played in the Road to Rome newbie forum. It lasted from December 7, 2003 until December 16, 2003 (8 days, 23 hours, 3 minutes) and featured a total of 59 posts. The Mafia team achieved a perfect victory.
Newbie 1 was a landmark game as it was the first newbie game.

Pregame, Set-Up, & Rules
As moderator Dragon Phoenix set the game in the Sicilian town of Abbruzzo. {Note: The town of Abruzzo is located nowhere near modern day Sicily, but was a part of the Kingdom of Two Sicilies that lasted from 1738 to 1861.} Because this game had no Night 0, Dragon Phoenix listed himself as a NPC night-kill victim to set the mood.
The setup for Newbie 1 featured a 7-player C9 setup. This setup includes 2 mafia goons, 1 cop, 1 doctor, and 3 vanilla townies.
Dragon Phoenix listed the following rules:
- Have fun and don't be a jerk. Please have consideration for the other players and the mod, and actually PLAY the game by posting and voting.
- No communication outside the thread unless your role allows you to do so and then only in the game's nights.
- Get your choices in before the deadlines. If not, no choice will be made for you.
- No quoting my or others emails.
- If you're dead YOU'RE DEAD. No more posting relevant information after that.
- Lynching will be carried out once a regular majority is reached - and cannot be undone by unvoting. If I impose a day deadline, lynching will require at least half of the regular majority. In case of a tie, first come first served.
- Only votes in BOLD will be counted. Please clearly unvote if you want to change your vote.
- Do NOT edit or delete your posts! If you made a coding error, just post again.
- Do NOT post in invisible text.
- The mod is always right. Accept the decisions, and if you want to discuss them, take it to email/message, or do so after the game has finished.
Day/Night 1
Day 1 ended with the lynching of fgdtdtdtdr, the town's doctor.
The voting was started by shadyforce, who noted fgdtdtdtdr's lack of posting. The bandwagon was joined by rite and MeMe. At L-1, fgdtdtdtdr only offered the defense of being too busy to post. ZONEACE added the hammering vote on Dec 11, 2003.
Day 1 was 4 days, 23 hours, 13 minutes long and lasted over 39 posts. It featured 3 vote counts and a deadline that was later retracted.
Night 1 ended with the reveal that MeMe, a vanilla townie, had been night-killed. ZONEACE had investigated Stewie and received a guilty result.
Night 1 lasted 1 day, 22 hours, 50 minutes.
Day 2
Day 2 ended with the lynching of ZONEACE, the town's cop.
ZONEACE began the day by voting for Stewie. rite voted for ZONEACE because he felt that ZONEACE had contrived his stalling hammer vote on fgdtdtdtdr. Mafia members PrettyPrincess and Stewie quickly added their votes to get ZONEACE lynched and win the game for the Mafia.
Day 2 lasted 1 day, 23 hours, 50 minutes and covered 19 posts.
The remaining townies (rite & shadyforce) were considered to have been killed by the mafia in the endgame.

This was the first and only Road to Rome games played by fgdtdtdtdr, PrettyPrincess, and rite.
