This is good stuff. I wonder if there would be any way to query the database and find out what percentage of player accounts that were created prior to X (1/1/2007?) have actually moderated a Mafia game. -- Mr. Flay 12:08, 14 March 2008 (MDT)
You also have to consider the fact that a fair amount of those in line to mod drop out from what I have seen, as well as the fact said poll was more likely to be frequented by those who browse the full site and therefore would mod. That said, there probably still is some imbalance, but the sample you have chosen for the poll is statistically biased. Its probably closer to 6 games per player, which is still more then most people play. - armlx
My thoughts: Adding to what armlx said, while 85% of the site may express an interest in modding at any time, the actual percent of players who end up signing up to mod will probably be lower for a variety of factors, such as, for example, newer players leaving the site before gaining the required experience. This doesn't mean that 10.2 is not the right number. There are other factors that put upward pressure on the equilibrium number of games/player, such as players signing up to mod multiple games at a time. Another factor to consider is that the site membership keeps expanding and currently seems to have a net influx of players, even as some leave. This means less games/player are necessary since we have more players to fill game slots. - CarnCarn
