Newbie Games
- Newbie 389
- Role: Mafia Goon
- Personal Result: Survived
- Result: Mafia Win
- Newbie 389 started on june 2nd, 2007, lasted 5 mafia days (!), and ended on november 10th 2007. It is one of the longest newbie games ever played, timewise at least.
- MichelSableheart was mafia, together with GreenLiquid (who was later replaced by Qman). During day 1 and day 2, he played a solid pro-town game. At the end of day 2, he counterclaimed the doc, in the hope of a quick win. Unfortunately, the doc had succesfully protected someone during night 1, and after Michel's counterclaim, a series of No lynches & No Kills followed. On day 4, Michel's mafia partner was lynched, but after a succesful Night Kill, the town lynched it's doctor for a mafia win on day 5.
- Some quotes from the game:
- i will nominate ms for a scummy if he is scum - Snorlax
- If MS is scum, he's played an awesome game. - JDodge
- Newbie 494
- Role: Vanilla Townie
- Replaced In During: Day 1
- Personal Result: Nightkilled Night 1
- Result: Mafia Win
- In newbie game 494, MichelSableheart replaced Dracion on page 6. He replaced a player who was considered rather scummy, but managed to change people's opinion enough to be nightkilled during night 1. It turned out he was a normal townie.
- The mafia won the game. During day 1, one of them fakeclaimed cop, and did not get counterclaimed. On day 2, the fake cop claimed a guilty investigation on his partner. Even though the town managed to lynch the fake cop, the townie who had believed him became a quick mislynch on day 3.
- Newbie 527
- Role: Vanilla Townie
- Replaced In During: Day 1
- Personal Result: Survived
- Result: Town Win
- In newbie game 527, a game with the pie E7 setup, MichelSableheart replaced Autolyctus, who hadn't picked up his rolepm, on page 2. The game ended in a perfect town win, with MichelSableheart turning out to be a vanilla townie.
- Even though MichelSableheart was the player who hammered the last scum, the town win in this game was not really thanks to him. He spend the first half of day 1 (which lasted a grand total of 18 pages) defending the mafia goon and attacking the doctor. When both the doctor and cop had claimed, and there were only four players left who could possibly be scum from his point of view, he was heavily suspicious of a scumpairing by the two pro-town players of the four.
- The rest of the town played a lot better though, lynching the scum roleblocker day 1, investigating MichelSableheart to discover that he was pro-town, and quickly settling on the goon lynch day 2.
- Newbie 554
- Role: Mafia Goon
- Replaced In During: Night 2
- Personal Result: Survived
- Result: Mafia Win
- Newbie 554 was a California game. MichelSableheart replaced Danix, who had lurked throughout the game, during night 2. He became a mafia member, and managed to win the game.
- At the moment MichelSableheart replaced in, there were 4 players still alive: the cop, 2 townies, and MichelSableheart. He managed to nightkill the cop, even though he expected someone else to have that role. His original plan was to claim cop with a guilty result on the player he believed to be the cop. He only killed the true cop as insurance in case he was mistaken. With two townies left alive, it took a bit of work for him to cause the last mislynch, but ultimately he succeeded by pressuring the weakness of the following argument made by one of the two townies. "I've basically trusted anderson the entire game, and he knows that, so I'm sure he feels the same way about me." He did not.
- Newbie 578
- Role: Vanilla Townie
- Replaced In During: Day 2
- Personal Result: Nightkilled Night 3
- Result: Town Win
- Newbie 578 was an F11 game. MichelSableheart replaced Cream147 during day 2. Cream checked in a couple of hours late to prevent that. Michel became a vanilla townie, got nightkilled during night 3, but managed to win the game nonetheless.
- During day 1, the town lynched it's doc, despite the fact that he had claimed. Day 2, the IC who had hammered him was strung up, and revealed to be vanilla town. This left the town in Lylo. Two cop claims followed, but resulted in extremely little information becoming available to the town. Between the two of them, they only had 1 result (two roleblocks and an investigation on a dead player were claimed). Despite that, two succesfull lynches followed, with a nightkill on MichelSableheart inbetween, resulting in a town win.
- MichelSableheart did play his part in the victory, with a couple of correct analyses, but his role was neglectible. He was never on the lynching wagon of scum, and was more careful in his analysis then the other players, not considering the claimed cop confirmed. Scum would have had a good chance for victory if they had kept him alive till endgame.
- Newbie 615
- Role: Mafia Goon
- Personal Result: Survived
- Result: Mafia Win
- This was the first newbie game MichelSableheart played as an IC. MichelSableheart was a normal goon, and got a perfect victory in three days.
- The town really helped getting the scum win though. Day 1, there was a vanilla townie who played anti-town on purpose by self voting to get to lynch -1. There were other townies who wanted to lynch him, despite not believing him to be scum. This allowed Michel to act pro-town while allowing a lynch on a townie to develop.
- Day 2 was more of the same. Sure, Michel came under a bit of pressure early in the day, but the day developed into two opposing wagons on non-scum, allowing Michel's partner to hammer the cop.
- Day 3 immediately saw a townie voting for another townie, and that other townie returning the favour. This didn't lead to an immediate quickhammer, because Michel's partner had to be replaced for the fourth time during the game, but the game ended soon after that replacement showed up.
- In short, the townies behaved extremely anti-town, and the other goon was missing for most of the game, having to be replaced four times, leading to an easy scum victory.
- Newbie 783
- Role: Vanilla Townie
- Replaced In During: Day 2
- Personal Result: Nightkilled Night 2
- Result: Mafia Win
- MichelSableheart replaced Furpants_Tom during day 2, and was nightkilled during night 2. He was a vanilla townie. The mafia managed to get a perfect win.
- The game saw a lot of replacements and quite a bit of inactivity. That, combined with a good scumteam and an unfavourable setup for town (7 townies in an F11 game) led to a relatively easy mafia win.
- MichelSableheart contributed with reasonable activity and analysis, but did not play well enough to change the tide.
- Newbie 811
- Role: Vanilla Townie
- Replaced In During: Day 1
- Personal Result: Lynched Day 4
- Result: Mafia Win
- MichelSableheart replaced inHimShallIBe during day 1 of this F11 game. He was alive for most of the game, getting lynched during day 4. This was the first game ever in which MichelSableheart was lynched.
- After a number of inactives (and a few active players who simply lacked motivation/time) had been replaced during day 1, this game was very well played by both sides. All players were active, made good decissions, and made good posts.
- During day 1 and 2, MichelSableheart was very influential on two bandwagons on townies. His reasoning wasn't bad, but he was responsible for two mislynches. During night 1, scum got lucky and managed to kill the cop. Night 2, they got lucky again and hit the doc, eliminating both powerroles without having been bothered by them at all. During these first days, one of the scum had managed to draw the suspicion of all townies in the game, and he was subsequently lynched. MichelSableheart supported this bandwagon, but because he was careful and took a bit of time completing an analysis, he wasn't actually voting the scum.
- Another nightkill saw MichelSableheart with two other players in endgame. Here, those earlier bandwagons came back to haunt him. The mafia member hadn't done much to draw attention to himself, while also being active enough to avoid being suspected for lurking. Besides that, he was part of the lynching wagon on the other scum. Basically, his record looked much better then that of MichelSableheart. The third player quickly made the choice to vote Michel, and a hammer later, mafia had won the game.
- Newbie 848
- Role: Vanilla Townie
- Personal Result: Nightkilled Night 2
- Result: Mafia Win
- Newbie 848 was an F11 game with the worst possible setup for the town.
- It was a pretty strange game all around. Day 1 saw competing bandwagons on townies. However, despite of desperate efforts by MichelSableheart, day 1 ended in a no lynch. And this No lynch wasn't even caused by the mafia!
- Day 2 saw heavy pressure on the two town players who caused the no lynch day 1, ending in the mislynch of one of them. That night, MichelSableheart was nightkilled.
- And that's when the fun started. Because the game was in Mylo, the town decided not to lynch anyone, preferring to see a kill by the mafia to get more information. The mafia refused to make that kill. The same thing happened again on day 4. On day 5, the players decided to start lynching again, because they didn't want to risk the mafia not killing and seeing the game end in a draw.
- That day ended with the lynch of the mafia goon. However, the mafia had bussed each other extremely at that point in time, and the roleblocker could manage the last mislynch without too much trouble.
- The game lasted a grand total of 7 days, or 50 pages.
- Newbie 873
- Role: Vanilla Townie
- Personal Result: Nightkilled Night 2
- Result: Town Win
- MichelSableheart was part of the starting lineup of newbie 873. He was a vanilla townie, who got nightkilled during night 2. Thanks to good play by both powerroles, the town ultimately won.
- Overall, this game was very enjoyable, and well played by everyone. There were no significant problems with activity and everyone was participating.
- Day 1 saw the usual discussion and bandwagoning going on. It was ended rather suddenly when a mafia member teamed up with a townie for a quicklynch though. Night 1 saw a player nightkilled who hadn't been drawing a lot of attention.
- Day 2 was more interesting. The discussion focussed on the townie and mafioso who had quicklynched the day before. In the discussion that day, Michel showed townreads on three out of four pro-town players still in the game. Of course, he supported the lynch of the fourth pro-town player, the townie who had been heavily involved in the quickhammer.
- During night 2, the mafia decided that Michel should be killed. The main reason for this was the fact that he was the only player who had defended the likely mislynch of day 3, but the simple fact that he would be a threat also played a part.
- During day 3, the mafia got a nasty surprise though. A doctor claimed, stating that he had protected Michel during night 2. Michel had died anyway, so he was sure there had to be a roleblocker and a cop around. The cop responded by claiming to have been blocked night 1, and having an innocent result on the last remaining townie. The mafia didn't counterclaim, and suddenly the townie, who had looked to be the likely mislynch of day 3, was confirmed innocent and had to decide between two different possible scumpairs. He chose correctly, and scum were lynched twice for the town win.
- Newbie 888
- Role: Vanilla Townie
- Personal Result: Nightkilled Night 2
- Result: Town Win
- Mafia Goon and Roleblocker versus seven Vanilla Townies is a setup not usually won by town. However, this game was an exception to the general rule.
- This newbie game was one of MichelSablehearts better performances. In fact, the entire town played excellent. After a bit of a slow start, a wagon developed on a vanilla townie who wasn't contributing much. MichelSableheart was happily wagoning along. However, as soon as the mafia considered joining the wagon, Michel noticed, and quickly switched. Shortly afterwards, the weaker player was replaced, and the replacement played a lot better. The result was the lynch of the mafia roleblocker during day 1.
- That night, the replacement was killed. After a short discussion about claiming to see if there were powerroles, it was back to analysis. By process of elimination, MichelSableheart identified 3 other players as pro-town, with a strong town read on a fourth. This left 2 players as mayor lynch candidates. That day unfortunately ended in a mislynch though, and that night, MichelSableheart was killed.
- The rest of the players were not as convinced as MichelSableheart had been. The scumcandidate MichelSableheart had identified was by far the most scummy, though, and after a long day of discussion, the mafia goon was lynched for the town win.
- Newbie 923
- Role: Vanilla Townie
- Personal Result: Survived
- Result: Town Win
- Another F11 setup. This one had a doctor and six townies versus two mafia goons. MichelSableheart was one of the vanilla townies, and made a good contribution to the town's eventual win.
- The game got of to a rather slow start. Players were posting, nobody was at risk of being replaced, but there weren't many actual significant accusations flying around. 25 hours before the deadline, the two largest bandwagons still only had two votes each. At that point in time, one of the players decided to switch votes to try to guarantee a lynch, MichelSableheart followed, the player being voted selfhammered... and came up goon.
- That night, nobody died. At that point in time, the game was effectively clinched. Through analysis of the dead goon's play, MichelSableheart was able to correctly identify 6 of the remainging 8 players (including himself, of course) as definately town, and another player as likely town. The player he identified as scum was under quite a bit of suspicion from others, and was eventually lynched.
- He turned out to be the second goon, giving town a perfect victory.
- Newbie 947
- Role: Mafia Goon
- Personal Result: Survived
- Result: Mafia Win
- In this F11 setup, town had a cop to combat the two mafia goons. Unfortunately for the town, that cop had to claim day 1, and was nightkilled the following night.
- The game had very serious problems with activity. Several players had to be replaced, a vanilla townie was mislynched for lurking on night 2, none of the pro-town players was doing much scumhunting and MichelSableheart's partner managed to lurk his way to Lylo. In the meantime, MichelSableheart was keeping up the pretense without doing very much.
- The result of all that was that MichelSableheart's partner was strongly suspected by all players. One of the players used a proces of elimination approach to determine that a vanilla townie had to be the other scum, and voted her. This allowed scum to quicklynch for the perfect victory.
- Newbie 982
- Role: Vanilla Townie
- Personal Result: Nightkilled Night 1
- Result: Mafia Win
- F11 setup, 7 vanilla's versus goon and roleblocker.
- MichelSableheart didn't play great, gathering a bit of suspicion. He was nightkilled night 1 for being a threat to scum that was unlikely to be doc protected.
- The game had some issues with activity, and replacements had trouble catching up because of the amount of wallposting that happened. In all that, scum played a good game, and managed to win perfectly without ever being under significant suspicion.
- Newbie 997
- Role: Vanilla Townie
- Personal Result: Nightkilled Night 1
- Result: Mafia Win
- F11 setup, 7 vanilla's versus goon and roleblocker.
- Day 1 saw three players gather suspicion. MichelSableheart had a townread on one of them, and pushed against the other two. All three of them were Vanilla's.
- After Michel was nightkilled, the town continued to lynch his townread, and the third suspect after that.
- The mafia therefore easily won by keeping a low profile and going after easy targets.
- Newbie 1014
- Role: Vanilla Townie
- Personal Result: Nightkilled Night 1
- Result: Town Win
- The best possible F11 setup, cop, doc and 5 townies versus goon and roleblocker.
- Day 1 saw two players getting under heavy suspicion, both of them claimed to be a powerrole. The rest of the town decided that at least one of them had to be lying, and lynched the doc.
- That night, mafia decided to kill MichelSableheart, and didn't roleblock anyone.
- Which turned out to be a big mistake when a third player claimed cop with a guilty result on someone who hadn't been under suspicion otherwise. His claim was believed, and the two mafia members were lynched in quick succession for the town win.
- Newbie 1057
- Role: Mafia Goon
- Personal Result: Survived
- Result: Mafia Win
- Again an F11 setup, 2 goons against a doc and 6 townies.
- Michels partner crumbed doc as soon as he replaced in, a crumb Michel spotted. Michel was rather inactive during day 1, but still managed to be perceived as pro-town by most. That day ended with a lynch on a townie who managed to upset most of the town against him. Michel argued against this lynch, though he obviously didn't fight hard.
- Day 2, Michel started a case against a lurking townie, who continued to lurk without risking being replaced. This behaviour won over 2 townies plus Michels partner, leading to another mislynch.
- Day 3, the SE still alive claimed cop with a guilty on Michel. Michel's partner claimed doc, Michel claimed vanilla. This naturally resulted in a debate on who to believe. The townie who was not investigated by the cop had a strong townread on Michels partner, and therefore saw no possible scumteam if the copclaim was correct. This caused him to vote, allowing Michels partner to hammer for the mafia win.
Normal Games
- Mini Normal 533
- Role: Paranoid Doctor (AKA Jailkeeper)
- Personal Result: Nightkilled Night 2
- Result: Town Win
- MichelSableheart played in mini 533 from the beginning. He received the role of doc, but later turned out to be a paranoid doctor, a role perhaps better known as jailkeeper. He got nightkilled during night 2, but eventually won the game along with the rest of the town.
- Day 1 saw a townie pulling a Slayer's gambit, which failed utterly. He behaved scummy in the hope of luring scum onto his wagon, and said he would explain himself only when he was at L-1. Because of this behaviour, the miller believed said townie was a jester who could only win if he hammered himself and announced that he would hammer as soon as L-1 was reached. Another townie decided to test whether the miller was telling the truth. He was. The following night, the cop was doublekilled by both the mafia and the Serial Killer. MichelSableheart wasn't even close to protecting the right person.
- Day 2 saw the best play of MichelSableheart that game. Based on a side remark about poison being the Modus Operandi, he correctly identified the Serial Killer. Based on behaviour, he correctly identified a mafia member. Based on behaviour, the claim and the response gotten from other players, Michel also got convinced that the claimed miller was indeed pro-town. He failed utterly in convincing the rest of the town though, and day 2 ended with a lynch of the pro-town miller.
- Night 2 was a very interesting one indeed. At the beginning of night 2, Michel was told that he became paranoid because the cop had died through the hands of scum (if you've payed attention, you'll know that this was in fact not true. MichelSableheart had been paranoid the entire game). The mafia decided to nightkill the Serial Killer, mainly because the player playing the Serial Killer had an extremely good meta on a mafia member. Simultaneously, the Serial Killer decided to kill Michel, for correctly identifying him. This meant that, if Michel had protected/blocked the SK, no kills would have happened that night. And because he now knew he was paranoid, he did in fact consider targetting the SK. He ultimately decided against it because he had hinted heavily in his last post before night fell (when he didn't know he was paranoid yet) that he would be protecting someone else. That other person turned out to be the mafia member who didn't make the kill, and both Michel and the SK died that night.
- After that, the game was a regular 7 player all vanilla game, which the town won by lynching mafia during day 3 and 5.
- Mini normal 765
- Role: Vanilla Townie
- Replaced In During: Day 3
- Personal Result: Killed in Endgame
- Result: Mafia Win
- MichelSableheart entered mini normal 765 as a replacement early during day 3 as a vanilla townie. He replaced Hero764 At that point in time, two vanilla townies had been lynched, a cop and a vanilla townie had been nightkilled, and a mason pair had claimed.
- He did not have much influence on the game, as it ended before he had completely read it. He strongly questioned the mason pair, and asked a couple of questions to other players, but never voted.
- One member of the mason pair voted a vanilla townie, the other member followed, and mafia quicklynched for the win.
- Mafia 99 - Killers Mafia
- Role: Vanilla Townie
- Replaced In During: Day 1
- Personal Result: Nightkilled Night 1
- Result: Serial Killer Win
- MichelSableheart replaced Pimj during day 1. When he signed up to replace, the game had been going on for two weeks, and was filled with inactives. Out of 13 players total, there was a player who hadn't posted since confirmation stage, and three other players also hadn't posted for a week. That problem remained throughout the game. People went inactive, and it usually took 2 weeks before they were replaced. The result was a very sluggish game.
- Shortly after MichelSableheart joined, a bandwagon formed on a player that he had a firm town read on. MichelSableheart protested that bandwagon, and managed to get an alternate bandwagon driven to a lynch just before the deadline hit. Unfortunately, that alternate bandwagon was also on a townie.
- That night saw three deaths. MichelSableheart was killed, along with two mafia members.
- Day 2 was a lynch on another townie, night 2 saw the dead of a mafia member and 2 more townies, and then day 3 was a no lynch, because after two weeks of playing, the mod decided to announce a deadline a mere 12 hours later (when one of the players again hadn't posted for a week, but no sign of a prod or replacement whatsoever). That night, another mafia member and another townie died.
- This left 3 players alive. A serial killer and 2 vanilla townies. After a bit of setup speculation, one of the townies voted the other, and the SK hammered for the win.
- Overall, this game wasn't much fun. The setup was extremely swingy. The game was filled with inactives, but there was no indication that the mod was dealing with that problem. A very unusual moderator decision cost the town a lynch.
- Mini 869 - Frat Party Mafia
- Role: Vanilla Townie
- Replaced In During: Day 4
- Personal Result: Endgamed
- Result: Mafia Win
- MichelSableheart replaced saberwolf during day 4 of Frat Party Mafia. At that point in time, 5 players were left alive, two of whom were mafia. After extensively reading the thread, Michel only identified one of them correctly, and as a result was part of the day 4 mislynch. Of course, 2 mafia in 5 players is Lylo, so after that mislynch, mafia had won.
- Before Michel replaced in, the game had seen a mislynch of a vanilla townie, a lynch of a vengeful mafia, and a no lynch during Mylo. During the nightgame, the doc (night 1), the cop (vengeful kill), two vanilla townies (both during night 2, one of them vigged) and the one shot vig (night 3) had died.
- When trying to figure out the alignements of the other players, Michel relied heavily on bandwagon information. Unfortunately, one of the mafia members had played an excellent day 1, and then simply became inactive. This resulted in Michel getting a very strong town read on that player, which meant that he was strongly against lynching the replacement. So when one of the townies voted that player, and neither of them was quicklynched, he came to the conclusion that the townie voting had to be mafia. He supported the lynch, and as a result, town lost.
- Open 175 - Picking Simplicity
- Role: Vanilla Townie
- Replaced In During: Day 2
- Personal Result: Nightkilled Night 2
- Result: Mafia Win
- Picking Simplicity is a rather basic setup. It has some simple roles, and a lot of vanilla townies. The only thing that made open 175 stand out was it's elderly home flavour, which unfortunately had a small impact on the game as it wasn't clear which faction made which kills.
- MichelSableheart replaced YankCane151 during day 2, as one of many replacements that day. His predecessor hadn't really made an impact on the game, so Michel could effectively start with a clean sheet.
- His performance was pretty mediocre though. His analysis was almost completely of. Out of his four suspicions, only one was correct, and that suspicion was based on incorrect reasons. His main contribution to the game was getting into a huge fight with one of the other players over irrelevant semantics.
- He did manage to draw the nightkill of the Serial Killer the night after he replaced in. He did this by publicly speculating on the reasoning behind the SK kill day 1. The SK wanted the other players to accept his reasoning, and thought the best way to get that to happen was by killing Michel.
- The town had been in a difficult spot throughout the game. The doctor had been nightkilled during day 1, the cop got nightkilled pretty early, on the night that he would get his second scum investigation, and there were a huge number of replacements. Ultimately, the mafia won by getting two townies to misvote in a 5 player Lylo.
- Mini Normal 934 - Troubles at Smiths&Catharts
- Role: One-shot PGO
- Replaced In During: Day 2
- Personal Result: Survived till endgame
- Result: Draw
- MichelSableheart replaced Locke Lamora on day 2 of Troubles at Smiths&Catharts, and received the role of One-shot Paranoid Gun Owner. During day 1, a Vanilla Townie had been mislynched, and during night 1, a Vanilla Townie had been killed.
- One-shot PGO is a rather rare role to have. However, when one of the other players claimed to be a gunsmith, the role made a lot more sense. In order to avoid unnecessarily killing a powerrole, MichelSableheart first pushed for a full roleclaim, but later settled for a massgunclaim. Unfortunately, the resulting discussion also outed the last powerrole, a tracker.
- During day 2, MichelSableheart was a solid defender of the claimed tracker, and in an ultimate push to prevent the tracker's lynch, he managed to get an alternative bandwagon organized, which ended up lynching a mafia goon. Unsurpisingly, that night saw the nightkill of the claimed gunsmith, whereas the tracker was blocked.
- Day 3 saw worse play from MichelSableheart. He was extremely influential in the mislynch of a Vanilla Townie that day, ignoring even the tracker's "he didn't go anywhere" result to push his incorrect read. That night, the player who was investigated "no gun" during night 1 died.
- Day 4 was better. A strong push for a mislynch on the tracker was averted by MichelSableheart, and eventually the day ended with the lynch of the mafia roleblocker. At night, the tracker was killed.
- After a No Lynch (Michel still hadn't fully claimed, and hoped to be the target of the nightkill) and a No Kill, day 6 was decission time. There were four players still alive, and Michel was virtually confirmed town through his previous behaviour. MichelSableheart's read was reasonable, but not very strong. He correctly identified the last remaining scum, but wasn't very certain, as he believed a different player could very well be scum too. In the end, he decided to follow the player he was certain to be town. Unfortunately, this resulted in a mislynch, and eventually in a two player standof between the last remaining mafia goon, who refused to target the one shot PGO.
- The resulting draw was rather controversial. Some members of the mafia strongly felt that they should have gotten the win for compromising half of the town.
- Overall, MichelSablehearts play was reasonable. The fact that he correctly identified the tracker and kept him from being lynched went a long way to achieving the draw. The mislynch on day 3 was largely his fault though.
- Mini 999 - Isolated Mafia
- Role: Mafia Goon
- Personal Result: Lynched day 2
- Result: Town Win
- In Mini 999, MichelSableheart was scum with two rather inexperienced scumpartners. Day 1, Michel's scumpartners gathered a lot of suspicion, to the extend that it became impossible to lynch anyone else. One of the scumpartners fakeclaimed cop, and though he was generally disbelieved, he was left alive, meaning that the other scumpartner was lynched. It should be noted that MichelSableheart gathered a bit of suspicion for wanting to lynch a claimed cop (a lynch MichelSableheart pushed in the hope of dividing the town into a No Lynch).
- That night, there was some discussion about what results the claimed cop should claim. Michel suggested a guilty result on Michel, in the hope of making one of the two scum 'confirmed town'. His partner rejected this decission, claiming that he didn't feel able to play his cop claim to endgame. It was decided that the 'cop' would claim an innocent result on a pro-town player, and the guilty claim wasn't further discussed.
- The next day, Michel got a rather nasty surprise when his scumpartner decided to claim guilty on Michel anyway. Michel put up a bit of a fight, hoping to put as much distance between himself and his partner. The town decided to play follow the cop, and shortly afterwards, Michel was lynched.
- The day after that, the last remaining scum decided to claim he was roleblocked and suggest he was lynched to check his claim. Of course, if mafia had a roleblocker, they would have blocked the cop night 1. And with a guilty result revealed, a true cop wouldn't suggest to be the lynch in that situation. The result was predictable. The last mafia member was lynched, for a perfect town win.
- Overall, Michel's play wasn't that great, but it was really the cop claim by the other scumplayer that cost mafia the game.
- Mini Normal 1341
- Role: Town Bodyguard
- Personal Result: Nightkilled Night 3
- Result: Mafia Win
- Mini 1341 was a 13 player mini normal. The most remarkable thing about this game was the presence of a double voter, who became appearant midway through day 1. That day, a scumplayer was pushed to a tracker claim, but a vanilla was lynched.
- During the night, Michel had a decission to make. The doublevoter was playing rather lurkily, with hardly any contribution, whereas Michel was widely considered to be likely town. The decission on whether or not to protect the doublevoter was a difficult one, but in the end Michel decided to use his protect... only to see the town cop nightkilled.
- With that nightkill result, the position of the scum claimed tracker became untenable, and after a short discussion he was lynched. That night, Michel again protected the doublevoter, and again a different player was nightkilled, this time a vanilla who hadn't really stood out.
- In an attempt to try to figure out who the scumpartners of the lynched mafioso were, Michel started a reread. In the meantime, a bandwagon shot up on a player who had extensively defended the scum claimed tracker day 1. This wagon shot up to L-1, and despite Michels request to allow him the time to post the results of his reread, the player in question selfhammered, to be flipped vanilla. That night, Michel was directly nightkilled (and again protected the doublevoter), leaving him no chance to post his thoughts after reread.
- During the following two days, obvious targets were lynched and nightkilled (the doublevoter died night 4), leading to a relatively simple scum win. Though it's unsure if Michels thoughts could have changed the course of the game, they correctly identified one of the later mislynches as town, and would have brought up suspects that were completely ignored during the rest of the game.
- New York 155 - New Age Mafia II
- Role: Mafia Goon
- Replaced In During: Day 3
- Personal Result: Lynched Day 4
- Result: Mafia Win
- Large Normal 155 was a rather strange game. It had a strong and experienced playerlist, but most of the players didn't actually have enough time to properly play the game. Inactivity and apathy were the result.
- The game started poorly for scum. After a day 1 massclaim, two mafia members were lynched day 1 and day 2. Simultaneously, the SK targeted the same players as the mafia (aforementioned massclaim had outed a cop), after which she decided not to kill at all and lay low.
- Michel replaced Simenon during day 3, and tried his best to appear town, but wasn't read town enough to avoid becoming the target of a lethal bandwagon during day 4.
- Luckily for him, however, the mafia traitor and godfather managed to avoid all scrutiny and ride the game to the end, where they could endgame the SK.
- Mini Normal 1814
- Role: Vanilla Townie
- Replaced In During: Night 3
- Personal Result: Endgamed
- Result: Mafia Win
- When MichelSableheart replaced into Mini Normal 1814 there were two scum left alive in a total of 7 players. Due to actions taken by a weak doc, 2 of those seven players (including Michel) were effectively confirmed town.
- Michel had two strong reads in this game: he (correctly) concluded that a players was town based on the way the lynched traitor had interacted with that player, and he (incorrectly) concluded that a player was town based on a townslip that player made where the reactions of the other players to that townslip didn't seem to indicate buddies. Based on those two reads, Michel pushed for lynches on the remaining three players, leading to two more mislynches for the town loss.
- It turns out that the townslip had been made deliberately by a player who was more experienced then he was given credit for, and that his partner could afford to disbelieve that townslip because multiple other players had already noticed and defended it.
- Mini Normal 1829
- Role: Mafia Doctor
- Personal Result: Survived
- Result: Mafia Win
- The first thought Michel had when receiving his role pm in Mini Normal 1829, was that mafia was extremely strong. Michel was a Mafia Doctor, in a team of 3 that also included a Mafia Vanilla Cop. Post game, it turned out that his fear was justified. Town had 2 investigative roles (Tracker and 3 shot Gunsmith), a 2 shot Vig, a 2 shot Bodyguard to protect them, and an Ascetic who could function as a named townie. Overall, the setup was balanced, but extremely swingy. As Mafia Doctor, Michel simply couldn't afford to die.
- Day 1 saw the Ascetic try a Mason fakeclaim in an attempt to safe a townread. When the player was forced to retract the fakeclaim later, it allowed Michel to tunnel on the interaction, allowing him to appear pro-town while completely ignoring his partners and pushing for mislynches. The interactions deteriorated, however, and eventually the ascetic had to be force replaced, after which his replacement claimed her role. Nevertheless, the day ended in the mislynch of the player who the Ascetic had originally tried to save, leaving a VT dead.
- In the first night, the Vanilla Cop was on point, correctly directing the mafia nightkill to the tracker. In the same night, the vig tried to shoot the vanilla cop, but was blocked by Michel. The Tracker tracked the goon to the kill, but died before he could make use of the info, and the Gunsmith investigated the Vanilla Cop.
- Day 2 started with pressure on the Vanilla Cop, who claimed his role, after which the pressure switched to the goon. Throughout this day, Michel fought the correct lynch by continuing to focus on the fakeclaim of the ascetic. Even though things became somewhat close, the deciding pro-town player eventually decided to lynch the Goon.
- Night 2, the Vanilla Cop once again correctly directed the mafia kill towards a power role, taking out the gunsmith. The vig contended himself with taking out a Vanilla Townie.
- During Day 3, Michel used the goon lynch and her doctor fakeclaim to 'deduce' that there was a mafia doctor in the game, and use that information to call for a vig claim. It would out his last buddy, but it would also allow Michel to nightkill the (in his eyes potentially unlimited) vig. Things went exactly as planned. The vig claimed, and the scum vanilla cop ended up lynched.
- The result of all this was that at the beginning of night 3, there were 7 players left alive: the vig, the bodyguard, 4 VT's, and Michel as Mafia Doctor.
- The nightkills from that point forward were obvious: Michel had to try to kill the vig as he was confirmed town and could potentially still have shots, and try that again after the bodyguard protect. So Michel had to get two more mislynches for the win, without being able to modify town opinion through nightkills.
- Here, he was able to ride the pro-town image he had build during the first few days. Day 4 saw the lynch of a VT who was generally considered scummy, and during the discussion in Mylo, Michel managed to convince the Ascetic and a final VT that he was more likely town then the other player in the game. Town lynched a VT during Lylo, giving Michel the win.
- Large Normal 212 - Korts' Geriatrics
- Role: Paranoid Gun Owner
- Replaced in during: Day 5
- Personal Result: Endgamed
- Result: Mafia Win
- Large Normal 212 was dominated by two factors. The first was general apathy and inactivity. Despite an unusually long deadline, day 1 ended in a deadline scramble for a lynch that was not previously discussed. Day 2 was even worse. At some point, 4 players needed replacement at the same time.
- The other dominating factor was a Vanilla Townie who loved fakeclaiming. During day 1, he claimed day 2 Innocent Child. When day 2 came around, he claimed Odd Night Gunsmith, with a guilty result on a different player. That other player was indeed scum, and decided to claim Even Night Cop. However, instead of showing that he was fake claiming and thereby guaranteeing the lynch, the fakeclaiming Vanilla decided to maintain his claim. This had a number of results.
- First of all, a tracker targeted the fakeclaiming scum, leading to their lynch during day 3 (after Vanilla Town had been lynched the previous 2 days).
- Secondly, during the 3rd night, the fakeclaiming town claimed to have been roleblocked. As the tracker had tracked the doctor to the fakeclaimer, this was interpreted as a guilty result on the doctor, leading to a mislynch.
- Michel replaced in during day 5, and received the PGO role. At that point, there were 5 players alive besides Michel. The fakeclaiming vanilla, the tracker, a claimed roleblocker, and two claimed vanilla's.
- Michel's predecessors hadn't contributed much at that point. The original player of the role had been one of the less active players during day 1. Michel's direct predecessor was worse, as he had only posted 6 times in a timespan of a month, mostly to promise that content would appear later. This meant that when he replaced in, Michel's slot was under quite a bit of suspicion. Through good analysis, Michel managed to alleviate that pressure. He found a way his role could be confirmed, provided scum would be lynched that day. He attacked the odd night cop, mostly on setup analysis that showed it was a fakeclaim. He managed to convince enough players to get the needed votes, only to be left facepalming when the flip came. Fakeclaiming town was not an option he had considered.
- In theory, it was a simple game from that point forward. 2 mafia left alive, meant that a succesful nightkill would leave mafia with 2 members left out of 4 players alive. End of game, right? The mod agreed, calling the game in favour of mafia... to the dismay of the Serial Killer, who had avoided killing in order to remain under the radar, and who was banking on endgame going a particular way.
- Micro 814: Geriatric Trio
- Role: Vanilla Townie
- Replace in during: Day 2
- Personal Result: Endgamed
- Result: Mafia Win
- Micro 814 was again a game that struggled with serious apathy. When Michel replaced in, he came out hard against the consensus lynch at that time, mainly because there weren't really any viable scumpartners given the amount of consensus over that lynch. Unfortunately, Michel's protests convinced another pro-town player, who had been suspicious of the Michel slot, to actually vote the consensus lynch, leading to a hammer on a vanilla townie.
- The nightkill that followed surprised Michel, but allowed him to do some serious NKA. Based on this, he correctly identified one of the two scum, while ending up doubting 50-50 between the other scum and a vanilla townie. However, once again the day was slow, and a different Vanilla Town player, who had been planning to vote Michel's top suspect, eventually allowed herself to be talked into voting the wrong player of the 50-50, allowing Mafia to quickhammer for the win.
Theme Games
- California Trilogy - Going to San Francisco
- Role: Carlos Santana - Vanilla Townie // Ghost Doctor
- Personal Result: Nightkilled Night 5
- Result: Town Win
- MichelSableheart was a vanilla townie, Carlos Santana, who would become a ghost doctor (a doctor who protects ghosts) when he died. He was nightkilled by scum during night 5, but eventually won the game.
- This large theme game modded by mith is the first large theme game MichelSableheart has ever completed. Besides the main thread, the game featured two more threads. One in which three pro-town players were placed at the beginning of the game (found here) and one in which the dead players (including three players who died even before the game began) could discuss things and decide on a nightkill (found here). You read that correct. As soon as a player died, he gained access to that thread, and all dead players together (including confirmed scum that died) decided who the ghosts would nightkill.
- During day 3, he decided to claim when he was under heavy pressure, and he did this so convincingly that he became effectively unlynchable, dying only on night 5, when the mafia used the only nightkill they used in the entire game (they had limited nightkills) to take him out.
- In the scumhunting department, MichelSableheart was less succesful. He lead the attack against one scum, and joined the attack against another, but he also hammered a townie and argued against the haunting of a claimed scum near the end of the game (because he believed there was more then one scum still around).
- Advertising Mafia
- Role: Copywriter (pro-town)
- Replaced In During: Day 2
- Personal Result: Killed in Endgame
- Result: Mafia Win
- MichelSableheart replaced Adel during the working hours of day 2. He received the pro-town alignement, and was killed in the endgame during day 3. The mafia achieved a perfect victory.
- Advertising Mafia had 14 players and a smalltown Deep South setup. Each day, a number of powerroles became available, which were distributed to the Copywriters and Art Directors through an ingenious system.
- When MichelSableheart replaced in, Adel was being heavily attacked for several reasons. MichelSableheart did not manage to turn around this general feeling, and as a result, his impact on the game wasn't great.
- Partially, this was caused by the fact that the 4 mafia members used their ability to daytalk perfectly to lead the town around. Through a combination of roles and an interesting day 1 scumkill, they managed to get one of their own semi-confirmed. They benefitted from a strategic lynch during day 1, got an easy lynch on a lurker during day 2, and used a fakeclaim by the semi-confirmed scum to seal the deal.
- Mini 908 - Mozart's Mafia
- Role: Waltz, from 5 pieces for Piano, Opus 23, by Arnold Schoenberg - pro-town flavour investigator
- Personal Result: Killed in Endgame
- Result: Mafia Win
- MichelSableheart was one of the original players in Mozart Mafia. He had the ability to investigate part of the flavour of one of the other players each night. He survived till the endgame, which happened during night 3.
- Mozart's Mafia was a Partial Reveal mini theme. Probably the most important role for town was Mozart, who could revive dead players (hence the partial reveal). Unfortunately for the town, the pro-town vig decided to use his ability early during day 1 for no discernable reason, and managed to kill Mozart. Later during day 1, that vig was lynched for unrelated reasons, but not before fakeclaiming. The cause of Mozart's death only became known when the game ended.
- Day 2 saw a lot of pressure on another pro-town player, who was eventually forced to treestump. This meant that the player counted as alive, but couldn't vote or be voted. That day ended in a lynch of a mafia member.
- During night 2, the mafia managed to use an extra kill they had to nightkill both other flavour cops. This left 6 players alive for day 3. 2 mafiamembers, the treestump without a vote, MichelSableheart, and two other pro-town players. This was a virtually unwinnable postition for the town. If they managed to lynch correctly, and then the mafia would nightkill, there were 4 players alive, which means there were 3 votes necessary for a lynch. However, there would only be two pro-town votes available. Because of this, the town decided to assume there were either a mafia goon and an SK, or only one mafia goon left alive. In both cases, a no lynch would be superior then a lynch, so a no lynch occured. Unfortunately, with two mafia members, this meant that a succesful nightkill sealed the game.
- Last Will Mafia II
- Role: Vanilla Townie
- Replaced in during: Night 2
- Personal result: Nightkilled Night 3
- Result: Columbian Mafia win
- Last will Mafia II was a game where the dead passed on their vote to the living, meaning that the number of votes was fixed from the start.
- MichelSableheart replaced CSL during night 2 of Last Will Mafia II. He replaced into a position that was under some attention, but was nightkilled the night after replacing in. He passed his vote on to a pro-town player. Due to the short time playing, his influence on the game was relatively small.
- Town had a rather difficult time lynching scum in this game. Due to the fixed number of votes, and the votes continually getting passed to pro-town players, the game went relatively long, though. Mafia eventually won during night 9, when they had a 3 on 2 player advantage (they started with 5 members in a 24 player game), meaning that town had no choice but eventually give mafia a majority of votes.
- History Mafia
- Role: Queen Elizabeth I - 1-shot Bulletproof Mafia Godfather
- Personal result: Survived
- Result: Mafia win
- History Mafia was a relatively standard theme game. Town had a tracker, a gender cop (with all mafia being female and all town being male), an odd night vig and a motivator to take on a mafia team consisting of goon, roleblocker, godfather. That's probably a bit more power then mafia needed, but it's nothing out of the ordinary.
- Michel felt that he and his team didn't play very well. The goon was lynched day 1 after severe bussing, the team made hardly any use of the daytalk they had available, Michel slipped significantly and the roleblockers fakeclaim was probably far too convoluted. Mafia still managed to win relatively easily though. After losing their goon day 1 due to extreme bussing, mafia killed the tracker night 1 and the cop night 2, with a townie lynch in between. The odd night vig took out a townie during the first night, and was lynched day 3 after heavy pressure from Michel. This left day 4, which saw a quicklynch of a vanilla townie who had been under heavy suspicion the day before.
