My goal by rejecting someone's /in in a Mafia or Mish Mash game is to make the game more enjoyable for all other involved parties, namely the other players involved in the game, my co-mods/backup mods as applicable, and myself. It is not being done primarily to punish that person. Please keep in mind that the act of me rejecting your /in to my game does not intrinsically mean that I have an issue with you, because these are games on the Internet and I am not interested in defining your character by how enjoyable you would make one. | My goal by rejecting someone's /in in a Mafia or Mish Mash game is to make the game more enjoyable for all other involved parties, namely the other players involved in the game, my co-mods/backup mods as applicable, and myself. When I mod games, I reserve the right to reject people's applications for any reason. I will generally refrain from doing this, but there are a variety of reasons as to why I may want to do so (eg. the potential for a combination of players to cause issues, the belief that a player is attempting to join my game for a bad-faith reason, or a lack of experience playing games of a similar complexity to the one I am running). I am not obliged to do so, but I will often attempt to explain my reasoning for rejecting a /in if the rejected player asks - to give them a chance to explain how they have | When I mod games, I reserve the right to reject people's applications for any reason. Result: Voted out Day 6, at ELo. Scum win.
Open 446: C9++
Role: VT
Result: Voted out Day 1. Scum win. I had no interest in playing mafia at this point, being occupied with a Survivor and the above game, so I lurked through the majority of it.
Open 510: Duck, Duck, Goose
Role: Paranoid Gun Owner
Result: Voted out Day 1. Scum Win. Tried (and failed) to get back into Mafia.
Open 628: Masons and Mafia
Role: Town Mason
Result: Killed Day 6. Town win. Tried again to get back into Mafia, and it worked!
Micro 587: Maths Mafia
Role: y=x-1 (Vanilla Townie)
Result: Replaced Out Day 2, Survived. Town win. Then it immediately stopped working.
Open 666: Pick Your Poison
Role: Vanilla Townie
Result: Voted out Day 2. Scum win. Another return to Mafia I suppose? Very shoddily modded game, though, and the town ultimately lost because a town player was modkilled at MELo for using spoiler tags and a subsequent mod error led to a scum player essentially being confirmed as town.
Micro 732: Miss List
Role: Mafia Goon
Result: Voted out Day 1. Scum win. Tried to get back into mafia again to no avail, but I did win the game it seems?
Bad Idea Mafia III
Role: Vanilla Daykilling Townie
Result: Killed Night 2. Scum win.
Rejecting /ins in Games
My goal by rejecting someone's /in in a Mafia or Mish Mash game is to make the game more enjoyable for all other involved parties, namely the other players involved in the game, my co-mods/backup mods as applicable, and myself. It is not being done primarily to punish that person. Please keep in mind that the act of me rejecting your /in to my game does not intrinsically mean that I have an issue with you, because these are games on the Internet and I am not interested in defining your character by how enjoyable you would make one.
I am not obliged to do so, but I will often attempt to explain my reasoning for rejecting a /in if the rejected player asks - to give them a chance to explain how they have demonstrated that my concerns are not necessary (either that they used to be but aren’t anymore, or that they never were to begin with).
Likewise, when I do want to play games, you have my word that I will refrain from joining games when my objective isn't to make the game more enjoyable for all other involved parties.
If you would like for me to reject a /in from my game, please let me know about it PRIVATELY. I will consider all requests, but I make no guarantees on how I will respond in any given case (especially if you are not involved in the game in question).
