Night 0 is the Night before Day 1. In Day Start games, Night 0 is solely for flavor if it is used at all. In Night Start games, the game begins in Night 0.
Note that some moderators who run Night Start games will call the initial Night "Night 1", which is followed by Day 1. There is just no talking to these people.
