Plurality voting is in contrast to the majority voting mechanic (where someone is lynched when they have 50%+1).

Plurality, rather, is simply that at the deadline the player with a plurality of voting is lynched.

A moderator using Plurality Voting will have to decide what happens when there is a tie at the deadline. It is suggested that ties should be treated as a no lynch.

Advantages

Take the following example: Game consists of Alan, Betty, Christina, David, Edgar, Frank, Gillian, Helen, Ingrid, Julian, Kelly, Lonny. Votes are. Alan (6): B, C, D, E, F, G Betty (5): H,I,J,K,L Christina (1): A

Majority

In a majority voting rule, if the deadline ends, the mod has two options:

  1. End the Day in a No Lynch, generally a bad proposition for town.
  2. Extend the deadline. This is better for town, but can drag along the game

Plurality

In a Plurality voting rule, if the deadline ends, this situation is simple: Alan is lynched.

Variations

As used by Zoraster in Mini Normal 842, it is combined with the Lynch + 24 hours Rule. Rather than being straight up plurality, if at any time a player reached majority, those in the game have 24 hours to change their votes and discuss.
