The ability to remove a player from the game during the night cycle of the game is nearly ubiquitous to Scum groups; it is analogous to the lynch available to Pro-Town players during the day.
Sometimes, pro-town roles may also have the ability to perform night kills, and there are additional roles which can modify the standard one-kill-per-night-per-faction expectation. Mafia are not always required to kill every night; Serial Killers often are, as a result of their insanity flavor text.
The term night kill is often abreviated as NK. Example: "I was NKed in my last game."
For variations on this ability, see killing roles.
