Role type:
  • Protective
Choice: none

A role with Lifelink may choose to protect themself from kills once in the game assuming another ability of theirs succeeds (i.e. isn't blocked, protected from, or otherwise failed). Lifelink can and must be used with another ability even without Multitasking.

Standard version

A role with Lifelink has a 1-shot ability linked to the attached role (that can only be used with the attached role and can be used as such without multitasking) to protect themself from kills if the attached role succeeds.

Variations

Lifelink could be an unlimited use ability, however Bulletproof should be used instead unless you need the complex interaction.

Use & Balance

Lifelink is a weaker form of 1-shot Activated Bulletproof intended for use in games with complex interactions.

Sample Role PMs

The standardized Role PM for "Lifelink" describes the modifier as follows:

  • As a modifier on a single ability: You have a 1-shot action to be protected from kills that is dependent on this action succeeding. (edit)
  • As a modifier that affects all abilities: You have a 1-shot action to be protected from kills that is dependent on one of your actions succeeding. (edit)

Example (modifying a single ability)

Welcome to game! You are a Town Lifelink Jailkeeper.

You have the following active ability:

  • Each Night, you may target a player. Assuming no interference with your action, that player will be protected from kills that night, but all their actions will be blocked that night. You have a 1-shot action to be protected from kills that is dependent on this action succeeding.

You win if all threats to the town are eliminated and at least one town-aligned player is alive.

Confirm by replying to this PM with a summary of your role.

Example (affecting all abilities)

Welcome to game! You are a Town Lifelink Jack of All Trades Tracker Doctor.

You have a 1-shot action to be protected from kills that is dependent on one of your actions succeeding.

You have the following active abilities, but may use only one per Night:

  • Once in the game at night, you may target a player. Assuming no interference with your action, you will learn who that player targeted that night. (You will get "no result" if this action is blocked.)
  • Once in the game at night, you may target a player. Assuming no interference with your action, that player will be protected from one kill that night.

You win if all threats to the town are eliminated and at least one town-aligned player is alive.

Confirm by replying to this PM with a summary of your role.
