NOTE: This is game and queue type is merely a proposal and thus is non-official.
A Flavorless Game is essentially an expanded version of a Normal Game, allowing more roles and modifiers to be used. It is a subset of the current Theme Games that excludes flavor and special mechanics. Notable additions to Flavorless Games that are not allowed in Normal Games include: Voyeurs, Followers, Reporters, Commuters, Bus Drivers, Cults, Survivors, Lynchers, Jesters, moderator deception, and hydra accounts.
Requirements
Below are the requirements for making a Flavorless Game:
- The game must be flavorless. Any flavor that you do use must be original and carry no weight/have no bearing on the game whatsoever (e.g. one should not be able to determine that you are lying about being a Cop because your flavor name doesn't match the role).
- The game must not have any special/original mechanics.
- The game must not have any roles or modifiers that are not explicitly approved.
- The game must not have any alternate win conditions, post restrictions, direct moderator influence, moderator lies that cannot be reasonably anticipated (e.g. not telling a Cop they are Insane is acceptable; telling a PGO that they are a Reflexive Doctor is not).
- Similarly with Large Theme Games, the moderator must publicly answer the question (yes/no): "Is it possible your game contains Cults, Jesters, action redirection, or moderator deception?"
- Unlike Normal Games, no rule-breaks are permitted for Flavorless Games.
Explicitly Approved Roles and Modifiers
Roles that DO NOT necessitate a "yes" answer to the question in Requirement 5:
- Any approved Normal Game role.
- Additional informative roles: Voyeur, Follower, Reporter, FBI Agent, Coroner, Forensic Investigator, Vanilla Cop Private Investigator, Bloodhound (see Modified Greatest Idea Mafia for descriptions of the latter two)
- Additional killing roles: Paranoid Gun Owner, Suicide Bomber
- Additional protective roles: Commuter, Babysitter, CPR Doctor, Elite Bodyguard
- Additional town utility roles: Governor, Enabler, Gladiator, Fruit Vendor, Visitor, Tree Stump, Politician
- Additional scum utility roles: Vanillaiser, Janitor, Framer
- Additional third party roles: Survivor, Lyncher, Unlyncher
Roles that DO necessitate a "yes" answer to the question in Requirement 5:
- Redirection roles: Bus Driver, Redirector, Deflector, Lightning Rod, Nexus (Role)
- Third party roles: Cult Leader, Cultist, Jester
- Deceptive roles: Cop sanities, False roles, Miller (or any similar false-guilty role) without telling them (e.g. telling them they are a Vanilla Townie instead).
Modifiers:
- Any Modifier listed on the Modified Greatest Idea Mafia page.
