A Condemnee is a player who is the target of a Condemner; the Condemner will win if the Condemnee dies.
Standard version
If a Condemnee is eliminated via the Day vote, the corresponding Condemner will win and leave the game. This role is never used without a corresponding Condemner.
The standard version of this role is Hidden, and not listed in the role PM (the role PM below is for the self-aware variant of the role).
Variations
Condemnees can be of any group alignment, town or scum (making them third-party would be even more bastard than the Condemner role itself), and might have a separate power role in another respect. They tend to show up only in flavored games where it makes sense for a Condemner-Condemnee relationship to exist.
Although Condemnees are normally unaware of that status, self-aware Condemnees do exist.
Use & Balance
If you have to use a Condemner at all, you should typically balance the game assuming that they succeed in getting the Condemnee eliminated (unless power roles save them). Thus, a Condemnee is a good choice for a role that would become overpowered if it survived too long.
Play Advice
If you're Town-aligned, and know that you're a Condemnee, there's not much reason not to claim; it's better that the town know that someone is trying to get you eliminated, rather than drawing incorrect conclusions from thinking you're scum. That said, you may well end up being eliminated anyway; town don't know that you're town-aligned, and eliminating you gets rid of scum. (That said, as long as you're alive, a Condemner will do anything to prolong the game, so you may want to point out that keeping you alive until all the groupscum are dead is the best way to ensure that the Condemner's vote is used to prevent scum winning.)
Sample Role PMs
The standardized Role PM for "Condemnee" describes the passive ability as follows:
- As an unmodified passive ability:
A Condemner will win the game, leaving it, if you are eliminated via the Day vote.
(edit)
- As a passive ability with a modifier:
A Condemner will win the game, leaving it, if you are eliminated via the nth Day vote OR the Day vote on day n.
(edit)
Example (unmodified)
Welcome to game! You are a Town Condemnee.
A Condemner will win the game, leaving it, if you are eliminated via the Day vote.
You have no active abilities.
You win if all threats to the town are eliminated and at least one town-aligned player is alive.
Confirm by replying to this PM with a summary of your role.
Example (modified)
Welcome to game! You are a Town Odd Day Condemnee.
A Condemner will win the game, leaving it, if you are eliminated via the Day vote on an odd-numbered day.
You have no active abilities.
You win if all threats to the town are eliminated and at least one town-aligned player is alive.
Confirm by replying to this PM with a summary of your role.
