Alignment: any
Role type:
  • Manipulative
Choice: none

A role with Trample is redirected to anyone attempting to block such a role, but will still be blocked by passive immunities such as Ascetic.

Standard version

A Trample role, if attempted to be roleblocked or rolestopped or similar will instead be redirected to whoever attempted to block the role.

For example, if a Trample Vigilante is roleblocked they will attempt to kill the roleblocker.

Variations

Trample can treat passive immunities as implicitly self-targeting and therefore effectively ignore them.

Use & Balance

Trample causes a role to be redirected instead of blocked and therefore is a check and balance on blocking roles.

For an investigative role that doesn't have names in their Results PM, this modifier is negative utility.

Sample Role PMs

The standardized Role PM for "Trample" describes the modifier as follows:

  • As a modifier on a single ability: If this action is blocked, it is instead redirected to whoever blocked you. (edit)
  • As a modifier that affects all abilities: If you are blocked, you are instead redirected to whoever blocked you. (edit)

Example (modifying a single ability)

Welcome to game! You are a Town Trample Jailkeeper.

You have the following active ability:

  • Each Night, you may target a player. Assuming no interference with your action, that player will be protected from kills that night, but all their actions will be blocked that night. If this action is blocked, it is instead redirected to whoever blocked you.

You win if all threats to the town are eliminated and at least one town-aligned player is alive.

Confirm by replying to this PM with a summary of your role.

Example (affecting all abilities)

Welcome to game! You are a Town Trample Jack of All Trades Tracker Doctor.

If you are blocked, you are instead redirected to whoever blocked you.

You have the following active abilities, but may use only one per Night:

  • Once in the game at night, you may target a player. Assuming no interference with your action, you will learn who that player targeted that night. (You will get "no result" if this action is blocked.)
  • Once in the game at night, you may target a player. Assuming no interference with your action, that player will be protected from one kill that night.

You win if all threats to the town are eliminated and at least one town-aligned player is alive.
