Werewolv.es or Online Werewolf (not to be confused with Werewolf Online) is a Werewolves platform using specialized chat software.

Mechanics

Elimination is not allowed on D1. Rather, D1 usually starts shortly before nightfall, and then the first night kill occurs on N1. These are No Reveal games, with a Coroner ("Gravedigger") being a core role present to determine the role held by deceased players. Eliminations are by plurality vote and are closed at a set time. Elimination is not compulsive.

Games

Werewolv.es games consist of wlf-, ext-, and speed games. Both the wlf- and ext- games are on a 24-hour cycle, with day breaking at 8 AM UTC and night falling at 8 PM UTC.

wlf- games

wlf- games typically have an open- or semi-open setup with a Rolecop ("Seer"), Gravedigger, Doctor ("Protector") and Vig ("Militia") as core roles, and typically also a negative utility role such as a Miller ("Lycan") or Sleepwalker (if there is a Watcher ("Harlot") or Tracker ("Stalker") in the game).

The wolf side typically consists of one or two shapeshifters, a vig ("alphawolf"), and another wolf such as a RoleCop ("bloodhound"), Framer ("bloodletter"), combination Godfather-Roleblocker ("Direwolf"), or regular wolf.

ext- games

ext- games typically have a closed setup and multiple factions, typically including coven, as well as magical objects such as runes.

Perennial debates

Certain debates recur at werewolv.es. The No Reveal mechanic and unique roles available on the site have an influence on the situation.

The Hudz play is championed by those who argue that it allows gathering of more intelligence and draws out the wolves to fakeclaim and subsequently get busted for doing so. The Gravedigger is the classic Hudz player. The Protector and Militia also sometimes opt to stay hidden, since they may not have intel to offer anyway.

For the seer, the idea is, an uncontested seer coming out on D4 makes for 3-4 confirmed people.

Culture

Doing a wolf cry (e.g. "arwoooooooooo") is regarded as sus behavior on werewolv.es and has gotten people eliminated before.
