An administrative category for the purposes of moderator waiting lists, an Open Game is defined as a Normal game with an Open setup.
Games with Open setups run outside of this waiting list category are also called Open Games.
Open Games are played in Central Park.
Players
There is a centralized waiting list for both moderators and players. To join an Open Game, players should post in Open Game List, specifying which game or games they are joining (as there are usually multiple games taking signups at any given time). When the game is full, the players will be contacted by the game's moderator.
Moderators
In order to sign up to moderate an Open Game, a moderator must have been active on the site for at least three months and completed at least one Mafia game as a player. Also, a prospective first-time moderator cannot be on another mod list, nor modding another game.
To join the waiting list, moderators should post in the Open Game List thread ("/in to mod", for example).
When a new game fills up, the List Mod will inform the new moderator, and the moderator can then start the game. Unlike with other game categories, the moderator does not choose the setup; instead, setups are chosen by nominations and player demand.
Moderators should make sure to read the guidelines for Normal Games.
