About Me

I found mafiascum after doing some research on different roles for my own games off-site. After a dry spell, I decided to venture into the Newbie thread and give the games here a try. I enjoyed it, and it suits my style of posting compared to other places where I had previously played mafia. It has since become part of my daily routine to log in and read some threads even if I'm not playing any games at the time.

I'm a pretty laid back player. I like to joke around and be silly from time to time, although I do know when it's time to actually start figuring things out (usually). I'd gauge my skills as a player as slightly below average, but I'm still learning the ropes and hope to improve my play.

Other interests include swimming, anime (to some degree anyway), and learning new things in general.

Newbie 1171	Nocmen	Vanilla Townie	Endgamed Day 3	Mafia Win	For a first game on the site, it was a pretty difficult game to grasp. Not only were there two town fakeclaims which eventually cost us the game, but one of the scum SE pretty much only posted to prod dodge. It was a very frustrating experience especially since I was a lynch candidate on every single day due to what people were calling opportunistic voting. Although I managed to pin scum on Day 3, I wasn't able to convince anyone of the fact. We would have most likely lost the next day anyway. Still, I learned a lot about the game and carried right along to other games.
Newbie 1180	Quilford	Vanilla Townie	Killed Night 1	Mafia Win	This was a pretty fun game to follow, although I didn't get to play much. After replacing in Day 1 and redeeming my slot somewhat, town mislynched and I was ultimately killed as a competent but safe night kill choice. I read the game through the end however, and I was able to guess the scum team (most of us in the Dead Queue agreed) after the second mislynch Day 2. Unfortunately, town mishammered at three player LyLo after a last minute change of heart and lost us the game.
Newbie 1190	Nobody Special	Town Doc	Killed Night 2	Town Win	A game lost due to the crash, this was another fun but large game. In particular, I learned a bit more on the town-hunting aspect of the game since our IC (implosion) heavily relied on it. There was a lot of talking and the game itself was one of the longest newbie games in terms of post while simultaneously having one of the shortest days (the hammer on the final day was made after only three posts). My reads were pretty bad for the most part, and as soon as I was finally connecting the dots, I was killed after the mafia rolecopped me Night 1.
Prisoner's Dilemma III	theplague42	1-Shot Prison Vigilante	N/A	Abandoned	I replaced in Day 3 after taking a break from mafia due to school related reasons. However, I wasn't able to do much despite finding myself with a cool power. We had caught scum and was sentenced to die, however, the crash brought the game to a halt. Due to lack of motivation from both the mods and the players, the game was abandoned after the site had recovered.
Newbie 1225	Guy_Named_Riggs	Vanilla Townie	Survived	Town Win	This was a quick and enjoyable game. I tunneled on town Day 1 due to my previous history with the player and came out pretty badly from it. Despite losing our cop Night 1, I finally got my head in the game and helped drive the lynch on the rolecop. After a successful jailing Night 2, the last goon was easily disposed of on Day 3.
Worst Role Mafia	izakthegoomba	Avatar	Mauled Night 4	Mafia Win	Quite the headache this one was. I replaced in Night 2 and read all 60+ pages in one readthrough. After leaving to go finish a final, I came back to the thread locked. Turns out they had lynched in the two hours I was gone. After actually getting to post Day 4, I still wasn't of much use. I had a post restriction that only allowed me to post in 100x100 pics which severely crippled my ability to catch scum. I was still killed by the Werewolf team due to my reads and general town feeling everyone had for my slot. The town ultimately lost due to some very bad play in general and only made it to LyLo due to crosskills between the two scum groups. The roles were a laugh and a half and I had fun posting in the dead thread.
Mini 1333	callforjudgement	Vanilla Townie	Lynched Day 7	Mafia Win	I replaced into the game around the end of Day 2 and found myself reading more pages than I had originally expected. I couldn't really get my head in the game until about halfway Day 4, and even then my interest in the game was incredibly low. Town played an incredibly bad game and only got to three player LyLo due to a horrible play the Day before. My reads were awful and became an easy lynch at endgame after having defended one of the scum and general bad play.
Game of the Year	mykonian	Vanilla Townie	Lynched Day 5	Town Win	A 50 player game with an interesting lynch mechanic. It was eventually accepted that it was a town sided setup after the reveal of a near mountainous setup. I got lynched once the number of people had gone down considerably, and my lurking was noted. After basically begging to get lynched, I received a humorous amount of post hammer votes. Town had some very good players that at one point led to three scum lynches in a single day.
Mini 1343	xRECKONERx	Mafia Roleblocker	Survived	Mafia Win	My first scum game, and it showed. Luckily for me, I had good partners and a bad town. After a huge bus that lasted two days, it allowed Amrun to ride her town cred all the the way to endgame. We were helped along by a town PR claim and PR lynch on the first day alone while the neighborhood between KageLord (scum) and iamusername had led to iamusername's believing KageLord was town. While there was a lot of scummy things I did, there was always a scapegoat to lynch instead. At LyLo, the 1-Shot cop faked a guilty on a VT, leading to an easy win. The game had wonderful flavor as well!
