General Requirements
All experience requirements can be satisfied on mafiascum.net, brunchma.com, greylabyrinth.com, or another site approved by mith (which generally means he introduced Mafia there, or they play it the same way MafiaScum does).
You need to play one game on MafiaScum and have been around MafiaScum for three months before signing up to mod any game, regardless of prior experience.
Large Normal Game Requirements:
Potential moderators must have successfully moderated one other MafiaScum game before moving on to a Large Normal; this usually means a Mini Normal or Open Setup game.
There are usually a maximum of 4-5 Normal Games running at once; the List Moderator will notify you when it is safe to open your Signup Thread.
Mini Game Requirements
Mini Normal games require only the basic tenure and one game played. Mini Theme games now require one successfully moderated game. There is one Mini Normal and two Mini Themes with Signup Threads open at any given time; the List Moderator will notify you when you are at the top of the list. You may only be on one of these two lists at a time.
Theme Game Requirements
Currently, the requirement to mod a Theme Game is to have modded at least two Mini Normal or Normal Games before applying to the list. There is no limit to the number of Theme Games running at once (except for the number of available players; to get a game going, post the following information in the Free Market Theme List (moderators) thread:
- Your game name.
- The flavour text. - Add as much flavour text as you want. It will be included in the signups
- The number of players.
- Your moderating experience.
Once you have posted in the Free Market thread, the List Moderator will split it off into a new thread and give you the Stamp of Approval, or give you the rights to start your own Signup Thread in the Queue.
Note: There was previously a waiting list option for Theme Games, but this is no longer in effect. The Theme Park List Moderator must still approve your game before you open your Signup Thread, however.
Newbie Game Requirements
- You must moderate one non-Newbie Game successfully before being allowed to run a Newbie Game.
- New Mods that have only run one non-Newbie game MUST have a backup Mod that has run at least two non-Newbie games successfully.
- Potential Mods must send links of their completed games to the ListMod for verification.
- If you only send one game link the ListMod will assume you only have one completed game and you will be required to have a backup Mod.
- First time Newbie Mods may only run one game.
- When that game finishes without complications, you may sign up for multiple games.
- While NG moderators can run more than one game at a time, use common sense.
- Newbie Game moderating experience does not count towards the experience requirements for Modding in the other Queues.
Since all games are pretty much the same, they use the same Signup Thread; signups are open for the top Game Moderator on the list; if there are more than the usual number of new players, they will be bumped to the next game. The List Moderator will contact you when your game is full, and you may start your Game Thread.
