All joking aside, these players are extremely valuable; they usually make up 2-3 of the 7-9 players in each Newbie Game, and help "show them the ropes", explaining strategy and providing both good and bad examples of gameplay!

Norinel, the original List Moderator of The Road to Rome (where Newbie Games are played) defined IC players as follows:

:Inexperience-challenged players... must have been around for three months and have played in five completed games on mafiascum.net, greylabyrinth.com, brunchma.com, or a site verified by mith.
Inexperience-Challenged players must have been around MafiaScum.net for three months and have played in 5 completed games. Exceptions are sometimes made for very competent players with 4 finished games, or to exclude every incompetent/rude players who would otherwise qualify.
The current List Mod, Mr. Flay, supports that general definition, with exceptions for very competent players with 4+ games, or excluding very incompetent/rude players who would otherwise qualify.

Examples of ways to stop being allowed to be an IC include self-voting as town, incessant lurking, and personal attacks on other players in Newbie Games.
