== How I Read People ==
I look at motive most of all. If I am picking apart what you are saying, I am prolly trying to get a read on you. If I have the patients and the wherewithal to reread the thread, that is when I do my best work. ISO's often are a gold mine for me. I def need to start doing more ISO's and rereading the thread more often. More often than not, my Town reads are usually pretty good. My Scum reads need work.

About Me

I started playing on a site called Personality Cafe on February 18th, 2015. I have since played on ~13 sites. I have learned a lot. My first game I was Mod Killed... My second game, I was Mod Killed. This would probably discourage most people and they would give up. Not me though. I found I love the idea of trying to analyze people in this format and learn something about myself in the process as well.

I have learned that experience is really nice to have to fall back on. Even when you don't see how your experience is helping, if you are anything like me, someone who is very prone to messing things up, it shows its merits a few times in most games. I have been able to navigate who I am as a player and know where I stand on a few issues that are somewhat controversial.

I have been diagnosed with a severe mental illness that occurs in .2-.5% of the population called Schizoaffective Disorder - I have the Depressive Type variant. There is a lot of stigma surrounding mental illness in the world. It's no different than a broken limb - it's a body part that need attending to - it just happens to be the brain. I am not ashamed of this because, after all, I have no control over it. I think telling you this will allow you to see how/why I seem to be a bit odd at times. I also tell you this in case you think something is wrong with you and you don't want to get help. Getting help is the first step towards solving a problem that doesn't self resolve. If you need help, please seek help.

Style Of Play

I throw a lot of shit at the fan. I heard a guy once say about the game, "chaos is good for the village." He was talking about Werewolf, but this definitely applies to Mafia as well. I am not the best at getting accurate reads, or the best at looking Town, or even the best at eating Night Kills, but I am pretty good at stirring up conversation, which is really good for Town. As Scum, my best attribute is that I am good at distancing. For some reason I can push my Scum reads on my buddies all day and they don't get lynched because of me. I am trying to refine my play a bit and try and come into the game with more of a plan.

What I Think is the Ideal Way To Play

As Town

1. Work with and listen to Town. I can't stress this enough. I made the mistake of playing completely independently for far too long and it ended up with a lot of bad reads. Working with Town greatly increases your chances of winning.

2. Evaluate and reevaluate. Sometimes it's easy to go after the first thing that looks Scummy. Often times when you see a post that looks bad, it could just be an isolated incident because Town says Scummy things all the time. You have to look at a lot of posts sometimes when evaluating and reevaluating. Knowing when to reevaluate is important. You don't want to change your reads without something to back it up.

3. As a Power Role, try and get the most out of your action as you possibly can. Having this perspective will help you from making "YOLO" moments and keep you grounded to make a better, more well thought out decision. Also, don't claim unless necessary.

As Scum

1. Play to your Town game ONLY if it is going to get you Town read. Otherwise, playing as Scum is more about manipulating the crowd than mimicking your Town play. Far too often you see people putting so much energy into copying what they would do as Town that they forget what would be effective at the point in the game that you are in.

2. Watch your vulnerable moments. If you are distancing, make it believable; case your teammates with intent. Also, don't bus unnecessarily, just don't. Some people do this and even if they win, you end up having to patch things up with your teammates which is never fun. Playing as Scum is about lynching X amount of Townies - don't forget that. You can win alone every game. Watch you SOD and EOD play. These are vulnerable moments that can give away a lot if you are not careful.

3. NEVER GIVE UP!! No matter how dire the situation is, as long as you are fighting, you have a chance... maybe not a good chance, but a better chance than you would have if you did give up.

As Any Alignment

1. Play with a plan in mind. There is nothing quite as terrifying as playing against someone who plans out what they will do and knows how to do it.

2. Be willing to adapt to different circumastances. If you are too rigid with what you are doing, you are not going to be effective in accomplishing your win condition.

3. Try and get along with people regardless of your alignment. Play in a way thinking that you would want to play with yourself. People are going to be more apt to listen to you if they don't think you are a jerk
